New Player help

Hello everyone!

I just recently joined FFXIV because I loved FFXI when it was super popular. I'm currently on Behemoth, but I'm noticing a lot of posts about it being a "late game" server. Is there a better server to join for noobs like myself? Or is there a LS...I mean FC that is actually cool having new players and not just for end game and static stuff?

Any help with be greatly appreciated!

The "problem" with those late game servers just tends to be low population and bonkers market prices.

Depending on what you actually want to do in game this might not actually be a problem at all; some might even prefer the quieter, sleepy servers, and I bet (for example) Hunts are far more civilized on them.

But if you want to do endgame, there are certain servers that are best for that. Ditto for other preferences and playstyles. Of the servers I've tried I like Balmung best so far... not because it's the unofficial RP server, but because it's just very lively in general.

Now there should be non-endgame FCs that would be happy to have you but I obviously don't know specific ones on your server. Don't go to the server specific forums. Instead /shout in town or just wait until someone approaches you.

I cant speak for different servers but on our server all is depending on what kind of Fc you choose. (Hardcore) Raid FCs / Event FCs / RP FCs / Social FCs are some kinds and if you want help choose a social FC because there is the focus on chatting and helping each other, which doesnt mean no raids are happening but its a "Manus manum lavat" system aka I help you now there fore you help me or others at another time (lowlvl till endgame everything included).
