Been tearing my hair out trying to get the monk hand gear too, but ninja gear is more common in WoD than water in the ocean. Must be nice to be a ninja, since the game spoils them so hard.

I hate all those monk gears. why are they dropping so often? I'm waiting for ninja gears to drop and those fake ninja gears aka monk gears keep trolling me.
Last week 15 runs to see something beyond gear I have and shitty ss/acc belts (was after nothing special just ok stats as I have all on 50) I admit twice unlucky on Aiming tabard once on tankcoat, in the end looted mnk pants with acceptable stats. This week second run got aiming tabard.

I've not managed to get a healer drop for the past two weeks. In that time I must have run near 50 times, including partial runs, and I've seen one healer drop (boots - already have), three caster drops, a few tank drops and the rest were melee, mainly NIN.
Something is drastically wrong with how they have implemented loot in CT. It should not share the same type of RNG used elsewhere in the game; instead it should use a system as described eloquently above.
I'm actually now getting bored of running WoD for loot and may well only do it once for the weekly Archmagus quest.
I've geared up my Bard on left side and don't need anything from WoD on that class anymore, so now I'm running as Dragoon. But I don't think I've seen Dragoon loot in WoD no matter what class I was on at the time. Though I did manage to get caster shoes while on DRG last week... I probably wouldn't have gotten those if not for weekly lockout since I'm the only one who rolled on them, I hope that's here to stay for a little while longer.

Is....is that a joke? *every* WoD run is flooded with ninja and dragoon gear for me, the ironic thing being that those are almost never in any WoD parties I've done though I obviously see them elsewhere.

It's as if the server checks the party make up and chooses the least appropriate drop. It's not unusual to see four ninja pieces in one run when the team may have only one ninja (or even non, like you say). Surely they could programme some intelligence in, like the did in games decades ago.

Or like they said they did for previous coils, where supposedly, the party composition was checked and then rolled against to generate loot. I use the term "Supposedly" very, very loosely.
Your not alone on this mate. On PHX server I've been running the ST, WOD lines for lights over and over. After about 40ish some runs this week, 80% of the time loot has either been MNK or DRG. A few BRD's, a random healer and tank gear but those are the exception. I asked within my FC to see if this was the case for others and sure enough it was. RNG certainly seems to have a favored set it offers either in awarding the same folks or awarding the same gear sets run after run. Either way its sucky ^^

...what I'm baffled at that so many people replying in here don't (or just don't want to?) realise/consider, is the fact that not everyone has the kind of free time to spend so much of it on only farming one dungeon for one specific (set or piece of) gear. Bully for you if you can do it 50-100-500 times a week, but that's not how it is for everyone else. Sure if you're all-50, with the best gear for all (or whatever gear you'd want), and you basically don't have anything else to do than the top tier raid that's on weekly lockout and farm for glamours - awesome. But a lot of us are not in those shoes. For a lot of us, there's still levelling (and gearing) up other classes. For a lot of us, there are still actual story or side quests to do. For a lot of us, there's now Gold Saucer. For a lot of us, there's fishing. For a lot of us, there's PvP. For a lot of us, grinding the same exact content continuously for days/weeks/months is just too monotonous a task. The list goes on - and quite a lot of this has become quite heavily dependent on RNG.
And yes, I do think we all know that RNG has been a part of (MMO)RPGs for ever.
That's not the issue, sure, have it in there, it does spice things up. It's the amount of it that's seen such a huge increase lately, and especially in a game that started out as being touted extremely casual friendly, that is a problem. (Indeed, this is a game, only one game, there probably are others people would want to play; then there are other activities to kick back and have fun, and hey, y'know, there's also this thing called life we have to live...) But when there is such a large pool of items for such a little number of chests, it just becomes too hectic. It becomes too unreal. It becomes less and less fun, more and more frustration. Even more so if you consider proportions: tank has a 100% of getting their drop if they want it; healer is down to 50% if they both want it; DPS in a worst case scenario can be down to 25% - and that's only assuming that another RNG (the loot they want appearing) already favoured them. With that in mind, I really don't understand why it is so unreasonable to ask for a system that's a little fairer. Do it n times, get a token you can exchange for whichever item you need/want. And don't even argue about this being the lazy way that would make people leave the whole thing for the week once they geit their stuff - that is already happening, often with the people just leaving in progress too, without any alternative to the RNG being there (indeed, doing the whole thing n times might actually be more work than someone getting their drop and leaving their <nth run in-progress). Or have a system that considers current party setup. Or have, maybe if not all, but like two of the four chests drop two items instead of one.
People going on about others feeling "entitled" to whatever - when they themselves act that way, because they've "worked" for their stuff and thus so should everyone else. Newsflash: when you're doing the same dungeon for the 9000th time, it's not work anymore, because you can do it blindfolded. Because you've done it so many times. And winning a lottery (RNG) is not "working" either. Having an alternative option to the direct farming will not stop people going back there, especially if it's about helping friends or FC/LS mates. Heck, it even encourages that, because there's something "solid" they know will yield them something, if the random method doesn't work out. Getting sick and tired of doing the same place over and over again, with nothing to show for it except the time spent though? Yeah, that will stop people going there.
PS: PLEASE REMOVE THE CHARACTER LIMIT, IT IS OF NO USE, ONLY ANNOYANCE.
