i hope this does not mean they never going to put CS back in to dungeon and stuff -.- due to everyone complain and the best way to fix is not having them i be mad ; ;
I hope they just make it so the CS does not take up time.

I really really like this idea! It seems like a simple enough fix to just leave the CS as they are and if you have to spam through them then you can watch them on your own accord another time.I want to apologize beforehand for not reading the whole thread before posting, while I agree a LOT with Sol_Aureus, myself being a victim of loving cut scenes AND slightly over-enjoying the dialog (taking a tad longer than others), I'd like to suggest another possible remedy, one that wouldn't halt a whole party if one player feels like trolling or something seriously unexpected happens (accidents and Real Life happen, y'know?) during a cut scene (Again, sorry if it had been suggested already):
Remember the cut scenes replaying Bard in towns in XI? And the cut scenes replaying goblin? Bring it back. I'd love to just sit down and watch a whole story (in case I forgot parts with all the grinding in-between), or feel safe skipping and then replaying it back in town. Not so much running my butt back to the dungeon like the Goblin forced you to, but just having some NPC to replay ALL cut scenes back in the comfort of town, I'd love.
Oh, and for the Love of Jeebus, when the cut scene's done, give us a "System Message" that tells us the title of the cut scene.
Maybe another suggestion instead of BRDs or Goblin Footprints would be to watch them without logging in completely. By replacing the "Opening Movie" on the title menu with "Unlocked Movies". Each player could have their own personal library of video to view without logging in and being disrupted by shout chat or Linkshell conversation (or having to change filters around).
Would be a cool way to measure your personal progress through story and quest lines too! Definitely would motivate me more to do my missions and quests asap if I could see stats. Like if I had "28 or 120" videos unlocked or something of that sort. Maybe too console-like for some though ;)
This as already been said, no doubt, but I'll say my two cents anyway.
I think that CS's should be skippable if you've already seen it once.
However, I do not think that players should be allowed to start the Dungeon until everyone is out of CS. It's too easy to exploit the system otherwise if they're allowed to act freely otherwise. That is to say, in addition to not being able to start the dungeon the timer on the dungeon wouldn't start.
Also, FFXI would allow you to see the CS before entering a BC for Storyline missions. If everyone who needed/wanted the CS, for example, came by a wee bit earlier than everyone else and saw it then they could enter the battlefield NP (upon touching the entrance again). Also, the people who do not need/want to see it could just as easily choose to skip it and then select to enter the dungeon when they click the entrance again.
I think that would solve the timer problems as well as the people who do not want to keep seeing the same CS over and over again. =D
Brilliant! I would love to see this in action! =DI really really like this idea! It seems like a simple enough fix to just leave the CS as they are and if you have to spam through them then you can watch them on your own accord another time.

.... I just hope they change the weird uh "walking" they do in CS's. I mean really, who walks like that? My character walked normally *once* and that was in the opening CS for the nation of your choice. Otherwise she does this... swaying...half dance thing. o.O;
But yes... Brilliant. I'd love to see that movie option. ^^
One of my biggest annoyances with the new dungeons is the fact that while you're in a cutscene, the timer is still counting down. Because of this fact, in most groups it's expected that you skip the cutscenes to save time, which is really unfortunate.
I sincerely hope that this is not the case in future instances that have timers. My suggestion would be to work towards implementing a feature that would stop the timer until every player in the instance has either watched it or skipped it. During the cutscene, if 1 player wants to watch it because it's their first time in the dungeon and the other 7 players want to skip, while the 1 player is watching the cutscene, just don't allow the players who skipped to do anything until the last player has finished watching. Once the entire party is in control of their characters again, resume the timer.
This would allow players to freely watch the cutscenes without having to worry about pressure from other players to skip it to save time.
If you'd like to see timers be stopped during cutscenes, please reply to this thread and keep it alive.
Any new word about this? Like have they said whether or not they'll actually sync the timers? Or was this response a generic "hey thanks, passed it onto the dev team to mull over"?

I too would love to know if this is something being looked into.
Any word? This would sure make it better when bringing in new players who want to see the cut-scenes.
