You can think of those as mini-camps. You still do leves there but they serve the purpose of teleporting from the aeytherite gates. Mainly just getting to a certain area faster.
here is a novel idea, get rid of the timer all together. i do not understand the need to have the dungeon timed unless of course it pertains to something in the dungeon it's self that prevents the players from staying long. IE poison gas, bomb, or some other reason you cannot stay longer then the set time. i for one would love the opportunity to go into s dungeon, explore it all, destroy all the bosses then leave satisfied it was completed. i may be the only one who feels this way so feel free to ignore me.
oh no your not the only one.. i hated that in WoW everyone wanted to just hurry through the dungeon and ignore all the enemies and kill the last boss as fast as possible but then there IS no dungeon timer in any one of them that i have played..here is a novel idea, get rid of the timer all together. i do not understand the need to have the dungeon timed unless of course it pertains to something in the dungeon it's self that prevents the players from staying long. yeah cutscenes are what i judge mmo's on now, ffxi and all it's cutscene stories has made it that i've not played another pve mmo since it because it had no cut scenes in the game, no story mods or party play missions. this is the rpg part i love in mmo's. without this in it, it's just like any mmo, no pve game should launch without this. ..i'll just jump in a pvp game otherwise, least they are claiming to be at least that. ...and they probably all have the same pve in them anyway.
...also agree though timers should not start till last person exits out, i like to watch them, even in ffxi some of them when full groups were running threw them to get to next battle, i felt rushed cause some didn't read them or just read faster then me lol, i made them wait lmao, i loved my story line. u might as well take the rpg out of mmorpg without this in the game.
good post exactly my thinking on the matter two thumbs upyeah cutscenes are what i judge mmo's on now, ffxi and all it's cutscene stories has made it that i've not played another pve mmo since it because it had no cut scenes in the game, no story mods or party play missions. this is the rpg part i love in mmo's. without this in it, it's just like any mmo, no pve game should launch without this. ..i'll just jump in a pvp game otherwise, least they are claiming to be at least that. ...and they probably all have the same pve in them anyway.

They should get rid of the timers, implement a point system where achieving specific goals and defeating enemies will give you certain amounts of points. Hell, even make defeating enemies in certain zones a goal, and perhaps give more points if they defeat the enemies within a specific time.
At the end of the dungeon, they can spend the points on items. Based on performance, they may or may not be able to buy certain items. This means there is always an incentive to doing the dungeon, no more of this "Well I have (insert class here) so i deserve that item!" It would be based on party effort but in the end, given that enough points have been earned, players will be able to come out of the dungeon with the desired item(s).
This idea will make every room of the dungeon worth the stay. Make puzzles in each room, make goals.
i like how they have it in WoW and i know that this is not WoW but you cant help but compare on certain things like rolling for all items rather than having to rely on any kind of honor system because about 80% of the players out there have no honor in them to speak of..... btw Nuru love the sig.. =)
lol thanks! and yeah i agree with you about the honor thing, but my idea above you would require all the teamwork so that everyone is able to have enough points to be able to buy what item they want. Say the whole party accumulates 10,000 points. Everyone gets to spend that 10,000 individually, no matter if someone already uses 7,500 of it. That 10,000 is there for you to spend on whichever item you want. However, the rarest equipment will be more costly and you would have to spend a lot of time in the dungeon in order to earn it.i like how they have it in WoW and i know that this is not WoW but you cant help but compare on certain things like rolling for all items rather than having to rely on any kind of honor system because about 80% of the players out there have no honor in them to speak of..... btw Nuru love the sig.. =)
that is a very good idea and even be able to accumulate points would be nice so you COULD get the high point value items would be good for multiple runs =)lol thanks! and yeah i agree with you about the honor thing, but my idea above you would require all the teamwork so that everyone is able to have enough points to be able to buy what item they want. Strongly agree on that one. I was so, so lucky the people I ran the first dungeon with were willing to let me stop, not only to see the cutscenes but to read the notes, too.
