Coming back to the game in a new way

So I've been a heavy raider for about 10 years with the top guilds on the server when I raided always ahead in progression in each MMO I played but now...

I have a career, which takes up alot of time.

So I figured I'd look into being a *shudders* casual gamer...

Working on my crafts and gathering stuffs, trying to farm for the largest personal house. Anything else someone like me can do? I took a year or so long break from this game to do the awesomesauce raiding in Wildstar (Until Carbine killed the cause cuz DERP)... and I beat it so I came back here because I love the FF universe :3

(Before it gets asked I left after Turn 5 cause raiding is kinda boring in this game or was because the content was rehashed SO VERY MUCH)

I also had to slow down on raiding due to work/school.
However, considering the difficulty level of this game (pretty easy), compared to other MMOs out there, you can still raid. I have yet to reach a raid that I couldn't learn fast or keep my dps/heals up to speed in. Surprisingly, pugging a raid isn't so bad as long as you kick people when necessary. I'm also on Levi server, which might make a difference in the skill level of people I get in parties, but I have no clue don't quote me on that.

Anyways if you still don't have the time to raid, there's plenty more to do if you enjoy the world. All the primals are fun and can be done without a static, assuming you know what you're doing. Relics, Beast tribes, stock up on all those mounts. To be honest what keeps me going is running an FC that doesn't raid and just chills, it's nice when your crafts and such actually are being used for something right away.

Thank you! ya the primals are what burned me out, I tried to grind out the ponies <3 (MLP FAN since I was a little girl!) And the fact that it was the SAME EXACT FIGHT with 4 different difficultly settings @_@

    This is false.

Every extreme primal has different mechanics than the other difficulties.

Hard also has different mechanics than the story mode version.

I know but it's the same creature. That's what bothers me.

    WB I suppose.

I just returned as well. I didn't leave due to raid grind, I refused to do it. Had no desire to, had no intentions of doing it, still don't.

I left when housing first came to be and I'm a born again noob right now. I'll need a week or two just to learn my crafting rotations and figure out why I only have 8 slots free in a 450 slot inventory and what to get rid of.

I can tell you from memory, getting your crafts all to 50 is a grind but a very casual capable one and you can do it through leve quests. Take your time, gather when crafting is boring, craft when gathering is boring. Be sure to fish. It has a certain fun factor to it.

In response to the person that said that was false, It IS the same exact fight, every fight in this game is the same exact fight albeit maybe final coil. Sure, like there are small differences. But, 99% of the time, kill adds, 99% of the time, dodge shit mostly circular shit, 99% of the time there's a dps check in some form.

I mean yeah they have their different mechs still as well, but mechs that are learned in about a second, when you farm these forever it gets sooo borrrring.

Well, to be fair you just described nearly ever MMO boss encounter in every game since the original everquest. And THAT game didn't have the circular stuff to dodge.
You also described a lot of non-MMO games too...hell I think you just described Bayonetta...
