Secondly, while they did win an award for being incredibly accommodating (something that I, as a colorblind player, really appreciate), there are still issues with certain mechanics in the game being indistinguishable for colorblind players. I'm not even commenting on the T11 tethers here. Even with differing animations, color is still the most OBVIOUS indicator.

Hell, they had to retroactively fix Shiva's Icicle Impact AoEs (3 months later) because colorblind players were having problems. And they still haven't fixed the AoE indicator for the dives in the Isgebind encounter in Stone Vigil (which really mess up players with non red/green colorblindness). They're doing a good job, but they aren't perfect. Just because they won an award doesn't mean that they still don't have things in the game that are issues to the colorblind players.

Having a full colorblind mode would be easier because it would mean they wouldn't have to hotfix issues constantly that lead to colorblind players having troubles. Changing the scaling of different color palettes makes us able to distinguish colors without having to look at tether animations in order to figure out what the hell we have.

WoW has managed to do it, I don't see why it's such a stretch for FFXIV to do it. It's literally just a series of color filters that can be swapped through.
