    Typically with tethers you are always paired with the same person, at least in melee range I am always paired with our DRG unless she is dead. I do not see why your partner could not call out for you. For example "<insert name> go to A/B/C>". Not that difficult. Quite a dumb reason to kick someone.

    The tethers in T11 always pair a tank with another tank and a melee with another melee, as long as it's possible. And if memory serves me right, a ranged DD and a healer are always paired together, you never have 2 ranged DDs or both healers paired together, as long as party composition allows it, or no one is dead.

    It doesn't work like that for ranged classes. It does for melee and tanks, which is why your tether is always to the DRG as long as he's alive.

    ...what?

    I (as bard) get tethered to the summoner in our group all the time. We are the only two ranged DD in our comp. And I have watched us wipe before because the scholar and WHM tried to spread for missile at the same time. These situations both occurred while there were no deaths in the party.

    Caster DD, Bard and Healer are all grouped into the "ranged" category, and any combination of them being tethered together is possible during that phase. It is only: tanks that always get paired, and melee will always get paired if there is only 2 of them as you stated before.

    I've actually gotten flank tethers 3 times in a row where I was tethered to a different member of the "ranged" category all 3 times. Once to SMN, once to WHM and once to SCH. Needless to say, they moved to me

    edit: I do echo the sentiment that this is a stupid reason to kick you, OP. There is plenty of time to coordinate for tethers that 1 extra second could be used to call out which tether you have. Or have a contingency plan in place for when you get tethered that the person who has the same color as you can just move to you, and you have a designated spot for flank tethers.

    We do that for our melee. B (green) and C (blue) because the color of the waypoint matches the color of the tethers, but our monk hits his positionals on C side so if he gets a flank tether they will always go to C, regardless of which color they actually have. This could easily be implemented for you as well. Sounds like you're better off finding new people to raid with anyway. Good luck, and hopefully this actually doesn't make you quit the game ;-;
