Kicked from raid team due to colorblind

I tank for t11 so I don't really focus on the other tethers and I don't even know/remember what colors they are but I do notice that they have distinct shapes when my party splits for non tank tethers.

On another note, I used to be able to easily tell apart garuda HM tethers by color before they adjusted the tethers to make it more color blind friendly. As far as I'm aware, I'm not color blind but the first time I saw the new changes, it threw me off and I could barely tell which color is which color. I was off tanking then so I just grabbed both garuda minions and just generated hate and let the dps decide which one they want to target. I haven't really had the chance to really look closely at the new tethers for that one but...are they still red and green? All I see is two different lines (one huge wavy, one smaller) and I still don't know which line is the det buff and which line is hp regen buff.

The tethers look different in shape.
blue-white is less twisted, ribbon
red-green is more like a DNA strand.

put up markers for tanks, melee, and ranged ppl, in a triangle shape.
there's always 2 pairs, and it's always 2 melee, 2 ranged/casters, 2 tanks; so to prepare, you always stand with the ppl you can be paired with; away from other groups.
if it's a tank-melee combo, the melees move behind the boss, so you don't get to close to tanks, and begin gaining stacks. then you rotate in the same direction, to avoid cone-aoes
if it's a melee-ranged combo, you stand left and right of boss; away from each other, and rotate in same directions, to avoid aoes.
so you don't even need to use color, to distinguish them; you don't even need to look at the shapes, you just need to look at what group has tethers.

Well, lets just make when there are two (or more) things to be distinct, have them changes not only on color, but in shape too, and shape differences needs be so evident as are the colors. All happy.

This topic should of ended ages ago when a member of the static op was in said "It was not the colourblindness for the reason why you were kicked." and from what I have seen in videos and guides the tethers are no issue for Red/green colourblind people as both red and green do the same thing I mean the op's static member even said "We wiped to the tethers because we weren't used to them yet."

Honestly the topic is just ridiculous at this point.

Having read the critical posts. Let's put this to rest. If it was due to colorblindness it's bad of the raid leader. As someone said a raid leader should be able to adapt the strategy to the team. If there was something else let them deal with it on their own and sort it out.

I agree though that they should provide options for colorblind people - of all types. It could be as simple as having a here's a quick colorblind test to figure out what you can/can't distinguish and we'll adjust the colours to the point where you will be able to tell them apart along with what each colour corelates so that you can understand others when talking about it.

I agree with this, though SE does really well in patching in things for the hearing impaired and colourblind; though of course when content is "cutting edge" it seems that kind of thing isn't guaranteed (see shiva's aoes before update which gave it echo, even I had issues with that at first.)

Sounds more like you raided with a bunch of asshats. I think in most groups people just call out where to go when progressing. I'm sure you can keep doing that.

I'm sorry about your experience. In a way you're generalizing the whole community. I don't think very few people would make an encounter easier for a group. The way you describe that group lets me to believe you're better off with other people anyways.
