Actually the last thing we did as a team was the tethers, then joke came after, nothing was said about joke, then I was kicked. You would assume this too since no one said shit about the joke and was only concentrated on tethers.
Sounds like your raid leader should learn to communicate better.
And not jump to conclusions based on assumptions.
See this what by being more accommodating, allowing for more compassion, empathy, and understanding would have helped avoid. Too often people are too quick to pull the trigger.
I never pulled a trigger. I played devils advocate to prove a point about all the assumptions in the thread automatically banking on the OP being right just because he had a disability. There's a difference. Also, none of those things you listed included communication. Communication was the problem. Not a lack of compassion, empathy, etc. So you were off base from the real problem they had. You can have the empathy, compassion, and understanding you want but it doesn't mean a thing if you don't talk. Those things are not mutually exclusive.

If people were more inclusive and not so quick to pull the trigger to exclude other, and had more compassion, and empathy, it would naturally follow that they would talk/communicate with the other person before resorting to the drastic decision to exclude people. Communication alone is not enough, because ISIS communicates to the rest of the world with their ghastly videos. And communications really only works when people try to understand each other and not look to "cut their heads off", literally or figuratively.
I don't think you understand how communication works in comparison to those other things. If words don't leave your mouth you never have a chance to be compassionate, show empathy, etc. Nor do you have time to cut someones head off either figuratively or literally since you didn't even speak. (This is an MMO context after all. We don't have body language) You're trying to jump to step B while skipping step A. We aren't mind readers. You have an unrealistic view of human interactions and communication. I recommend taking a sociology course. You have a lot to learn.

Totally agree with this.SE has been relatively accommodating to people with disabilities such as colorblind and changing things like the tethers on Garuda - I'm sure if people brought up the issues the dev team will look into it.
I agree it should be changed, but throwing the "i'm going to quit the game" just because something doesn't work out for you is just low.
And cutting people off from their static before even discussing it, means there was no communication when that happened. And if people are predisposed to being exclusive and not taking the effort to be understanding, then it follows that they would not want to communicate. It is the attitude and predisposition of being more inclusive that should be default and not the other way around.
I'll be the firs to admit that I don't understand people, probably be because of undiagnosed asperger or something. But it does not matter, in a virtual world of an MMO, why can't we hope that people can transcend their baser instincts and play nice with each other and help each other and play together to everyone can have a good time? Why is this an unreasonable or unrealistic thing to ask for?

How out everyone stop playing armchair judge. A static kicked a member out. We dont know the circumstances, and both sides are just text on a website. We dont know who said what, when, what tone, or anything else. Just separate the issues.
Tethers are harder for visually impaired players. K. Great. Hopeully SE will read that. They have shown an active interest in catering to this demographic, I'm sure they will continue to and this can get added to the list. Till then, posters have pointed out non color based differences to try to help. Different shapes, debuff menu icons, etc. Case closed.
The rest of this nonsense is some personal issues with a static removing a member. Take that shit somewhere else.
