    K been looking around and googleing this error seems to pop up a lot and there's not a single fix that works every time so looks like I can't play any more Oh well I'll just have to wait for the PS3 verson I have had more problems with the game then I care to mention yet not a single other game I own fails on me each patch!

    I was having the same problem. Creating a new administrator user account in Windows worked for me.

    Yep as mentioned I done this already that's why im puzzled as all the normal things to do have failed to fix the problem, the only thing that has changed on my system since I last played as I got The witcher via steam and Age of empires online via Games For Windows marketplace oh and a nvidia driver update but other than that I haven't done anything else

    It happened to me another time, before this last one, and I had to do a full wipe and reinstall Windows to get it to update correctly, unfortunately.

    Well good news I have fixed the problem after pissing around with tons of settings and changing equipment I decided to check my Eset logs to see if there was a program trying to piggy back on the updater and found that the remote server was causing a TCP overload, even when the firewall is disabled the prog picks up overloads and snooping, so I turned of the TCP overload detection and presto patching fine but slow so back to normal then lmao
