Future of fishing?

Really loving fishing but curious if anyone has heard if any big enhancements are coming with the new expansion or future patches? Would be nice to make a living so to speak in game if one chooses to with fishing

More specifically, they've said they're going to avoid introducing too much new bait in the future.

Beyond that, who the hell knows. Nobody really knows anything about the specifics of what's going to happen moving into Heavensward yet.

It'd be amazing if it turned into a mini game like in some other MMOs. Then it would actually be fun for me to level for longer than an hour.

Heck, I wish all gathering professions could have mini games while gathering.

Most likely add new, high level and hard to get fishes that require a high gathering/perception and certain conditions to catch

You can already make a living, go catch emperor fish. It's never going to be easy because if it was everyone would do it.
