Can't figure out what this landmass is.

Ok so forewarning I wasn't sure where this thread should go so I decided this was the best spot for it..

Alright. So in Costa Del Sol, you can board the Rhotano Privateer to fish.
Looking out East while on the boat, there is a landmass across the sea way off in the distance.
I can't figure out what it is though? There's one very noticeable tall building that sticks out from the rest of the mass, which reminds me of Limsa. But...I don't think the placement is right, so I'm not sure what it is.


The whole each zone having a seperate loading screen and not being one big seamless world is really throwing off my sense of direction and location when it comes to trying to put together which zone is where exactly in the games world.

Hope any of this even makes sense, and hope someone can help.

I've been fishing on this boat for days and trying to figure out what the land out in the distance is driving me crazy!

Actually since the Rohtano Sea is West of Limsa I believe that looking east off the ship would be looking in Limsa's General Direction. And I'm assuming this is in reference to the Arcanist class quests as well which I recall being able to see the port of limsa from the ship's deck (although vaguely) and little else in the other directions.

I'm not sure though...this is where the map starts to throw me off.

I'm in Eastern La Noscea, so to the very right side of La Noscea, the map for all of La Noscea has Limsa about in the middle.. which is to the left, or west, of Costa Del Sol(which is where I am, right off the coast of Costa Del Sol.)

You can see Costa Del Sol from the boat very clearly.

Now the world map completely zoomed out says that Thanalan and Mor Dhona are the direction I'm facing.
If you look, La Noscea "looks" like an island to the west of Thanalan.

So I'm confused. Is the land mass REALLY Limsa? It just doesn't seem right.
If it's true, then the way the map is in this game is really vague and not clear as to where you actually are.

I'm pretty sure you're looking at Ul'dah from across the ocean, I can imagine Lord Gegeruju wanting to have a prime view of Ul'dah, from another continent.

Yeah thats what I'm looking at, only from the boat next to the lighthouse off the coast
(Can get some amazing views of the sunset there btw, haha)

That tall "spire" looking part of it just made me think limsa not Ul'dah(or Thanalan in general)
