Both LotA and ST need an ilvl cap to them!

So yeah after doing Labyrinth of the ancients and Syrcus Tower these past few days. It's now very clear to me that both of these raids now need an ilvl cap badly like most of the old HM dungeons have now got. As frankly right now almost all the mechanics of the raids have been thrown by the way side in favor of a DPS race, which is destroying these raids for the players who are only just reaching them.

Also you can currently get through LotA in around 12-18 minutes, this is also unacceptable. No raid should be able to be done in this time.

So can we please see an ilvl cap put into effect with the Gold Saucer patch please! (Or better yet an Emergency Maintenance to restore sanity to the raids as soon as possible.)

People are already ignoring the mechanics in HM dungeons, ilvl cap has done nothing to stop that. You still can't skip most of the mechanic, so why care about it? The more you dps the last boss, the faster he casts Ancient Flare, so you might actually miss the circle.

yea, no... Lota and ST barely have any mechanics regardless, an ilvl cap would only serve to frustrate everyone

Doesn't it actually benefit the people that are just coming into them? The raid gets destroyed quickly so they get quick, easy gear to give them a leg up. Vets typically like to see them because of soldiery bonus. Of course there's people that are dicks to the new people, but that's not exactly new. They've been there since I started back in 2.1.

No thanks, I've been trolled enough in LotA to last me a lifetime. At least with higher ilvl it's harder for idiots and assholes to screw everyone else over.

And ST doesn't need a cap, the only thing you lose on the mechanics side is the jump pads, and people could push him down fast enough to avoid those months ago.

Casual raids don't need an ilvl sync down.

The fact that you can skip any of the mechanics shows that it needs an ilvl cap. These raids were designed to be slightly challenging and yeah wiping on Behemoth wasn't an uncommon thing to see but now it's laughable to wipe on him. LotA was designed as an ilvl70-80 dungeon and such it should be capped at ilvl80 to keep what the developers designed it to be intact.

As for speed running, yeah sure you can speed run it now. I don't have any thing against speed running but I actually like to think during dungeons and raids rather than take down mobs in 20 seconds not because we're any good but because our gear is massively overpowered for the content we're running.

....you haven't been playing for long have you now?

I mean, I assume you don't understand why it doesn't need a ilvl cap cause you're a weaver, right?

But no, seriously. You're out of your mind. This is 2.1 content. Im pretty sure not many will agree with ya bud.
I WILLL have to say though, the first boss with 3 alliance packed with i120+ gear is pretty FRIGGEN funny to watch. We had to use only one alliance for that boss because of the damn skeletons.

And you see that's the trade off. The new players lose the experience of what the raids should be, and in doing so don't become any better players as they don't have to learn mechanics but they gain gear faster. So really you have to ask do you want less experienced better gear players or more experienced lesser geared characters?
