Steps:
edit: 0. Before moving the Armoire like described in the next step I changes its color to Soot Black.
1. Three people started redesigning the interior of our mansion, K'ihra, Zytode and Gary.
2. Move the Armoire somewhere. It was right next to the entrance (to the right) of the mansion. E.g. we moved it to the center of the room.
3. Move the Material Supplier NPC. We didnt move it anywhere near the entrance, it was quite centered in the room.
4. Move the Armoire back next to the entrance.
5. Now the following happens: When I exited the housing menu, both Armoire and Material Supplier NPC were standing where I placed the Armoire, directly on top of each other and I could interact with both. When I enter the housing menu again to move objects, the Armoire would be displayed where I moved it (next to the entrance), but the shadow (the one that shows your NPCs) for the Material NPC was still where it was supposed to be, across the room. For everone else in the room I didnt move the Armoire but the Material NPC. But since I saw the Armoire next to the entrance I could jump on it and everyone else would see me floating above the Material NPC.
6. Gary (2nd person) moves the Armoire away from its old spot (since it was still there for everyone else) somewhere entirely else. Once again for the other persons Gary didnt move the Armoire but the Material NPC and like me he could jump on "his" Armoire, that was only visible for him, and float in mid air.
7. Zytode (3rd person) did exactly the same. Moved the Armoire from its original spot somewhere else, same thing occured. Now everyone saw their own Armoire in their own place.
8. Asked a 4th person (Corvo) where the Armoire is supposed to be now and he told us that it wasnt moved at all. So he could stand on it in its original place while the other 3 person would see him float in mid air.
9. To try to fix it I deleted the NPC. I then relogged and it would fix the Armoire by showing it still standing on its original place. Going out of the house and coming back in has the same effect. I ignored it then and proceeded to place down the Syrcus Tower item. Everything was fine until I moved it just a tiny bit to the right. For me everything was fine, but for the other persons watching I just moved the Armoire and the tower to the exact same location. Then we gave up.
edit2:
10. Place any housing item from your inventory in the house.
11. Moce the armoire. Everyone else sees that you moved the item you just placed down.
12. Move the item you just placed down. It will actually move it for everyone.
13. Move the Armoire again. Now it moves some other item you placed down earlier, in our case the Syrcus Tower.
edit3 (the fix):
14. Everyone leaving the house, so that no one is inside finally fixed the Armoire. We can move it without it actually moving other items or not moving at all.
So in short:
We couldnt move the Armoire anymore, we only moved a "phantom" Armoire, everyone saw their own. Looked like a desynth error but relogging didnt fix it. Also the Armoire gets in the way of moving different items, only the above mentioned have been tested.
Something else to note:
At one point me (K'ihra) and Gary werent able to move items anymore at all. I could select the item with the "move"-tool but they would be instantly deselected. Only happened once it between steps 8 and 9. Relogging fixed that.
Heres a screenshot, you can see the invisible Armoires and the one the person standing on it moved to that very location. Zytode Rodin's perspective. You can see that from her perspective she moved the Armoire but it also moved the Material Supplier NPC (while for the 4th person Corvo nothing was moved at all)
PS: I used the wrong item name, fixed it but forgot to change the title before submitting. Its called "Armoire", not "Armory". I'm sorry ;_;
