Maybe they are trying to avoid child support cases with all the Eternal Bond divorce talk.
He ate them all, sorry none left.
Yeah, this is something that's bothered me, too, since I started playing. FFXI, there were kids all over the place, in every major town and also in most of the minor ones. Really gave a feeling that these places were HOMES. In FFXIV, the cities feel more like military outposts.
And it's not just the player races that are getting shortchanged here. The final set of Beast tribe quests involves children of all five of the beast tribe quest races - and with the exception of the Sylphs, all of their children looked like fully-grown adults, sized slightly down. (The Sylph children were just pods.) To be fair, though, beastman children is something that not even FFXI delved into all that much; the only one I can think of off-hand was the Qiqirn child who helps you raise animals in your Mog Garden - and he's a pretty recent addition.
Argh, don't get me started on this one. All three cities, and the only children you give gifts to are HYUR children! So unfair. Who knew Santa was such a bigot?

I guess my OP could have come off as a little creepy, sorry.
Show me the children...
I know there are younglings in the game already but I have only seen Human and Cat People kids. I was just curious how the Lalafels and Roegadyn look in comparison? Maybe all the Lala kids have been stepped on by the big Roegadyns. I know I'm worried every time I get in an instance with all Lala's when I play my Roegadyn.
Pretty sure Roegadyn are born fully grown.
In XI, the galka kids were the cutest, at least in my opinion.
We need baby roes.
