Can't finish Grand Company quest in Ul'dah - NPC is AFK

Hi,

Trying to finish "Career Opportunities" (Ul'dah Grand Company intro quest). I cannot see or select Aubrey, even though there is a quest ! on the mini-map. Tried zoning in and out to no effect.

I've seen similar threads posted on the forums as far back as July

Anyway to finish this quest and progress in the storyline?
