Is there any ingame miqote with hyur name?

    Hello,
I am not RP player (but I used to be in other games) so after I phantasied from Hyur to Miqote my name isn't suitable anymore and it really doesn't matter as I don't RP anymore but I am still a bit curious if you have met any miqote NPC with Hyur name in game?

It might be possible if there is for example any miqote who was raised by Hyurs, because it had no tribe nor breeding male to take name from. So they would name it by their own traditions.. maybe?

This thread has no deep purpose, just some dumb theorycrafting.

Yes. I know of at least one example, E'bandala Sweetmane:

She appears during an escort levequest issued at Wineport. She retains a sunseeker name, but curiously carries a hyur-like surname, rather than the name of her father, as is the usual sunseeker tradition. Make of it what you will.

There is also Loongah that has an Amal'jaa name while she is a miqo'te. Meaning that it's possible to use another name convention for a race.

Yeah well also the eternal bond can be made across genders and races. So I can imagine even a character with... lets say for example Hyur lastname and Elezen surname (something like Raitmeaux Strong) because of his parents.

There's also E'lahmui Ruby-eyes and E'tajha Sapphire-eyes. I believe both are orphans, I'm guessing if a Seeker Miqo'te doesn't know who their father was (or just didn't like him very much) they just substitute a byname instead.

The surnames sound more Roegadyn to me then Hyur, though?

Not Roegadyn. I think you're thinking of Hellsguard names, which would be something like "Strong Bear" or "Silent Moss." The names listed above are Hyuran, and Highlander surnames in particular often sound more like titles (Gerald Stronghammer or something).

Hey, the Flying Eyeball said it before I did.

"Fun Fact: Some Midlanders like to joke that because Highlander names have a very Roegadyn feel to them (in addition to highlanders being very large and muscular), that the clan is somehow “less Hyuran.” Many an alehouse brawl has broken out as a result of a Midlander in his cups uttering such quips as ‘Your mother was a Sea Wolf ’ in the presence of a Highlander. Needless to say, most of these quarrels do not end well for the instigator."

In her case, she was originally U'loon, but dropped the U when she left her tribe.

Seekers may drop the tribal honorific in the case that they leave or find themselves expelled from their tribe. close friends or family may also drop the letter to show affection,
as I believe Minfilia does when she's first reunited with F'lhamin
.

    I can't believe I never noticed this...
She dropped the U and took the clan(?) name Gah from the leader of the Brotherhood of Ash...

This really makes me wish the Beastribe Naming Conventions post talked more about the actual naming conventions of the Amal'jaa instead of their genders...
