So, where can we RP'ers go if Balmung is always locked?

This is something I'm hoping we can find an answer to.

I’m considering starting a collective of RP interested players on a smaller server for those of us who want to RP but would rather not wait for the few miniscule opportunities to roll onto Balmung, a server so full to the brim that the only time you can add a character of your own to it is to hurriedly do so immediately before or after a maintenance, or pay for the sever transfer.

I mean this quite seriously. I feel that while Balmung’s got the community for it, it’s well beyond the boiling point of sheer player congestion, and it’s really sad to see so many creative people sit by in frustration since they are literally blocked off from the role-players of FFXIV’s major in-game arena.

This goes for both players wanting to RP something with their main character, or want to build an alt especially for it.

I’m not totally sure how to go about this, however. My first thought is to build and advertise a new RP friendly FC, but again, not sure what server would be best to pursue this or even if I have the skills to lead a full fledged Free Company.

Has anyone else thought to do this? If so, I’d love to help! Or, if some such community exists, let me come by and help build awareness!

There is a second unofficial RP server...But I believe, like Balmung, Gilgamesh tends to be server-locked.

Ah, that's probably why I've never seen it mentioned then. Gilgamesh has always been locked when I had a moment to check. I'm only on Sarg since I paid for a transfer.

As Ilenya said, Gilgamesh is the other "unofficial" role playing server. However, much like its Legacy counterpart, Gilgamesh is nigh perpetually closed to new characters.

There have been some RP events on Siren~ My FC runs a restaurant every Friday :3 Its not big, but more and more people have been getting into it. You might be able to start something up too~

OHAI! I didn't get to go this week, but I like how the entire thing is setup. It's just a really cool idea and atmosphere.

And as you said, I see some other events pop up every so often. When it comes to Siren the roleplays seem to be a bit more limited to event with FCs, so maybe that wouldn't be quite what you want, but it's a start to forming a more longterm roleplay group!

Yes it is limited~ But I really think there are people willing, there just needs to be a platform for it, and if you feel willing to take the responsibility of creating a FC that would put on events or RP often, I bet you'd find interest.

We've had an RP operation going on Hyperion since June of last year, we're constantly running weekend events and have members constantly available for casual or serious RP. Though a lot of our events are pay to enter a lot of our members love to RP on the side when we're not in service just for the fun of it.
