Would I like to see more Hildi? YES! But How about for 3.x they bring a different comic relief character and then continue Hildi in 4.x. That would work as well. Then we could have 2 such epic characters to do stuff with.

This patch just oozed bad/lazy writing, at least to me (see the various MS/CT comments around this forum, some are quite buried), and some of it felt like it didn't even realize it was being totally contrary to what Final Fantasy has always stood for.
But not Hildibrand. I laughed, I cried, I laughed so hard I cried, and cried so hard I found myself laughing again. It may not be everyone's thing, but I think much of what modern FF games have been lacking is that absolutely deranged sense of humor, and that totally illogical optimism that refuses to end on a note that doesn't make things better for everyone.
With MS now trying to be "dark" fantasy, and the now-over CT storyline nothing but a montage of needless sacrifices, the last thing the devs should do is cut the one reminder of how fun and quirky Final Fantasy can be.

Guys give the hater a break, they did actually mention a good point, which is the trial roulette shouldn't be locked by an optional questline, we can do low level roulette without all the dungeons unlocked, it just chooses out of the ones you have unlocked, why can't they do that with trial roulette so we can have Hildibrand and they can still access their trial roulette.
But yeah #SaveHildibrand.
All the roulettes used to actually be like that. I remember not even unlocking Pharos Sirius on my alt way back when it first came out because I didn't want it to pick that dungeon for me when I queued for roulette. They took this away when they changed it so you had to complete every dungeon at least once before you could roulette.Guys give the hater a break, they did actually mention a good point, which is the trial roulette shouldn't be locked by an optional questline, we can do low level roulette without all the dungeons unlocked, it just chooses out of the ones you have unlocked, why can't they do that with trial roulette so we can have Hildibrand and they can still access their trial roulette.
It shouldn't be too hard to fix: The roulette unlocks when you complete the first dungeon/trial in its category, and you can start rouletting, but it will only pick from the list of dungeons/trials you have already completed. That achieves the same thing SE wanted (for people using roulette to actually know how to do boss fights) and it won't matter if you haven't done Hildibrand, you can still use the roulette, it just won't ever put you in the Hildibrand trials unless you do the questline.
It just seems once again another oversight on SE's part that we have this problem. There's been so much short-sightedness going on, like as if they don't even consider these issues beforehand.![]()

Wrong, Square wants people to play in all of the content so that you can't cheese it by farming easy stuff for your tomes/whatever. To have it where roulettes picks from only dungeons and raids you finished would mean people would only run the easiest stuff and there'd be even less people for the other stuff. That's why a lot of the relic and zodiac quests have people running old content so they can be paired up with new players and "help" them clear it.

If you can't laugh at the Hildibrand questline you have no soul. 'nuff said. I just marathon'd them because I hadn't started them before, I truly enjoyed each moment of it. Was not only funny in all the right ways, but interesting enough to keep me wanting to finish the next mission.
I will however, say, I think that the Hildebrand Battlefields should not be a part of Trial Roulette. I would personally like everyone to experience Hildibrand because they want too, not because they feel forced to in order to unlock Trial Roulette.

They would be idiots to not keep Hildibrand in the expansion. I mean, really. From my point of view, theres little to no complaints about Hildy quests and storyline. It's like saying SE would just shoot themselves in the face for taking away one of the better successes in FFXIV. Besides, I thought that the last line of "I smell a case..." has a high chance of seeing Hildy again in the expansion and beyond.

#SaveHildibrand
but I kinda disappointed with the pose, that only belong for male highlander, have to share with other race.
So basically you are saying, you wish the game to be really about the hard core players getting there fun, while the majority of casual players get shafted? Though, I do agree with the trial roulette part, that simply should not be locked as is for people that have not done Hildi or the relic quest.Conversely, if you would like to see the Devs not squander any further time/resources on an optional quest line that gates subscription paying players from content like trial roulette, you can sign my petition and show your support for the end of Hildibrand. Thank you.

I had no idea there were people who didn't like Hildibrand. Then again some people don't like Lalas.
Some people have no heart.
