    Question about post-50 fishing

To all the veteran anglers out there what should be some of the first priorities post 50? I am a few levequest away as I have 50 to blow on fishing. I know I still need to start populating my log but what are some priorities for me once I hit 50? As an old FXI player my most satisfying accomplishment was earning my Ebisu and being able to start collecting big fish. Thanks in advance for any advice

Get your gear up to scratch (melds etc) and catch those hq silver sovereigns for hat and rod

i55 Fishing gear with melds is enough to get started. Use i70 accessories (DPS,Healer,Tank ones) meld +5 perception and +5 gathering on each.

Then get your Foragers Hat and Rod. Then work on Supra. Then Lucis!

Once you have Foragers Hat and Rod you can start the big fish grind as well.

If you had the forager's hat from another class, or max gathering melded hat...

You 'could' try to jump straight to supra from AF.

It's possible to reach 350 Gathering (w/ Food) using AF gear and i70 accessories, which is a little bit higher than minimum gathering required for the Olbogies.
