Artisan's Gear - Redeemable vs. Craftable

Hey folks! So with Patch 2.5, there are now two different Artisan's gear sets. One is crafted, the other is redeemable with the same items used to redeem the Artisan's Spectacles and the main hand Artisan tool.

I personally find the redeemable Artisan's gear to be very very good. However, I am under the sneaking suspicion that the craftable Artisan's gear (materia melded, of course) is superior. Is this true? I am aware that the Redeemable Artisan's gear can replace the crafter's AF, even if fully materia melded (Just causes a slight loss of 4-5 CP, if that).

Can anyone give me more information on the Crafted Artisan's gear vs. the Redeemable Artisan's gear? Like max melds for 4-star crafting and how they compare with the redeemable Artisan's gear stats?

For reference, the redeemable Artisan's gear stats are as follows (Barring the Spectacles, of course):

    Artisan's Gown

    CP: 2
    Craftsmanship: 107
    Control: 35

    Artisan's Fingerstalls

    CP: 2
    Craftsmanship: 4
    Control: 35

    Artisan's Chausses

    CP: 2
    Craftsmanship: 4
    Control: 35

    Artisan's Pattens

    CP: 2
    Craftsmanship: 4
    Control: 35

    Total Stats (sans Spectacles):

    CP: 8
    Craftsmanship: 119
    Control: 140

Thanks for any assistance you may offer!

I used my fully melded WVR (supra tool) for comparison.

Now, there will be some variation since you can meld your OH tool and Artisan Apron differently than I did.

    My all melded stats are:

    461 craft, 416 control, 352 cp

Now, if I swapped out my gear for the artisan's redeemed gear, I'd have:
    451 craft, 400 control, 348 cp

I'd be missing the control cap for 4-star recipes. And I don't think you can add 7 control any other way. You could use control food to hit the cap. However, technically could work on your lucis tool with a build like this. Get your FC to use In Control II, then you use CP food. With the lucis tool, you'd hit all the caps.

even your base (il55 class specific) gear is superior to the ones you can get in mor dhona(il70), the craftet il60 is far better if fully melded, i just give an example of the Body part:

    ..........................ilvl 55............il60............il70
    cp.......................3...................3................2
    controll................36.................39..............35
    craftmanship.........108...............119............107

of course the craftet ilvl 55 and 60 have to be fully melded for that but as you can see even the standart il55 has 1 Point more in EVERY stat and the craftet ilvl60 has 1cp, 4 controll and 12 craftmanship more.

So the only reason to get the il70 Equipment is that it is rather cheap and that you can use it for all classes.

I definitely think that the i70 crafting gear, as it can be worn on all classes and is cheap to acquire, is far more lucrative than fully melding eight different sets of gear, even at the cost of 1 point in each stat per piece of gear. It's cheap and it works for all classes is definitely the appeal here.

Still, I think I'm gonna keep using the redeemed Artisan gear and gradually replace with crafted Artisan gear as I am able to get my hands on it. The only trouble being, of course, getting my Supra tools as Mastercraft Demimateria is a pain in the ass to get if you're not swimming in gil.
