Lunar isn't a color and no matter how it is related to white & gray it is not an accurate definition as far as I know. I would let this wording pass, however, if not for the other swimsuits colors that are accurate. Lunar refers to the Moon which is the color white, and blue at times or even red or orange. I know it's not that big a deal but I want to here what you guys think? Yay or Nay.

I would think "Platinum Summer Tanga" and "Platinum Summer Halter" would be more accurate and it's a better fit of the undershirt & undergarment that match.

It is fine.

They don't have to be referring to colors despite the other ones referring to colors. Hell, even colors nowadays don't even refer to colors. Go ahead and open up a box of crayons and you'll find out. Talk to any interior designer and they'll be throwing words out at you, not colors. This is even more prevalent in the fashion world.

Solar isn't a color either ^^: They both were references to moon and sun, which is fair enough IMO ^^

weather it's fine or not fine that is the question. If you judge the new item basic on there colors & names then there might be a problem. As is at present "Lunar Summer Tanga" and "Lunar Summer Halter" are they colored then? it sure does look like it is, then again, if it is uncolored the present naming would make since in a way. Like I said before I know it's not a big deal, "Lunar Summer Tanga (???)" and "Lunar Summer Halter (???)" as another example that would be great too.

Well, its not that hard to understand that LUNAR items are related to moon...that's whay they're silver...and also related to SOLAR items, that are refered to sun...and that's why they're golden.

They are all unrelated items...its not like you will be able to dye your lunar set into another one when the dye system change. Think on them like undies from miqo'te, elezen, lalafats, etc...they have the same rank and attributes, but they are completely unrelated. If they wanted, instead of using color names they could've just named them, as example, red set as lominsan, blue set as Ul'dahn and green set as gridanian...or use the deities to name Lunar and Solar sets as Azeyma and Menphina sets...

The name here doesn't matter since they are 100% unrelated.

If anything I'd rather see them changed to "Silver". Platinum isn't a word I'd use for that silver color.

Solar and Lunar seem perfectly fine to me, though.

Hello all! The crownless prince-turned-pauper has returned to rouse rabble and...er...answer questions about swimwear naming conventions.

Platinum vs. Lunar? Gold vs. Solar?

Funny story there. It just so happened that we had silver and gold in the item names, until one stormy night, the world planner walked in, his eyes glazed, his skin pale, and said to me, "you must...change...the swimsuit names...to lunar...and...solar......or the Others...they will--" before dropping to the floor...never to wake up again.

Alright, it didn't happen exactly like that.

Every now and again, one of the writers will have an epiphany and ask us to make a change at the last minute. This one involved something about the lesser moon of Dalamud, the Astral and Umbral eras, and some other forbidden knowledge that I am not at liberty to reveal at this time (one of the writers has a misericorde trained on my heart as I write this).

Oh, and to quote Catapult, lunar and solar have been determined in clinical studies to sound up to 75% "more awesome."
