Why? This is the only way I can possibly get Mastercraft Demateria. The materia prices are breaking the bank. So ya. Need some options here.
Sorry my wording is terrible. I mean I agree this gear should be able to be desynthed as well. If they don't plan to change it though then glasses shouldn't be able to be desynthed either.
I dunno about suddenly making it so you can't desynth glasses, but yeah, I sort of assumed the new artisan gear would be desynthable. BTW -- would it have killed them to give the set a different name?
Finally getting all my crafts to 50 and was hoping this gear would allow skipping the melding of the i 55 gear. I was planning on buying the turn in items only to find out you cant. So no matter what you still have to fully meld 1 set to make turn in items yourself to get this set. Getting into endgame crafting is just so daunting and expensive.
I really just want to make my own stable brooms. So maybe that's the set I'll meld and use it to get the artisan set for all my others and see where I go from there.
Perhaps you already knew this and it's just the phrasing that make me thing otherwise, but you can see in the gear description if it can be desynthed or not, so you didn't actually had to get the gear to know that.
Where? (i could just be blind right now) i'd like to know to avoid this mistake in the future :x since i did the exact same thing as the OP lol
Unfortunately there is no way to tell if gear is desynthable or not. The "convertible: yes/no" text only applies to converting to materia from spiritbonding and the general rule for that is that if it isn't craftable it can't be converted. This does not apply to desynthesis as the general rule to desynth has been any non-exclusive item (such as event items are generally exclusive and basic materials such as wolf fang for example) up to whichever item level SE has set it to if it isn't crafted as any equipment crafted has generally always been desynthable so you could desynth i100 and i110 gear before 2.5 came out if you so wanted, it just wasn't cheap or optimal.
You don't need anywhere near maxed melds to do 2* synths, especially with the ability to get HQ versions of the i70 materials that used to make it hard to get HQ items for the first master books. Go all HQ i55 on one class, goldsmith works great to make/meld your own accessories. I had 2 aetheryte rings with 3 craft in them, 4 craft in my offhand, no melds in my body pieces when I started doing 1* crafts. That should also be enough stats to do 2* crafts, but if not slap a few +4s in your body slots, and once you get the books making the tokens is easy, though pricey on your shard count. Make yourself 10 tokens to get your artisan primary, then make the 20 tokens you need (much easier now with higher craft/control) and load up on the i70 Artisan's gear.
I just checked and we are actually both right. I don't know if that was a known fact??
But turns out you can see that information about the gear in the French version but not the English one.
Direct link if pict failed http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/64...keyCollage.jpg
In order are, Glasses in Fr, Chest piece in Fr; Glasses in En and Chest piece in En.
As you may notice the English only gives informations about Convertible and Projectable, while the French one also gives info about Recyclable (desyntesis); so we can see that you can desyn the Glasses (Recyclable: oui) but not the Chest piece (Recyclable: non).
