Worth progressing towards next Relic Weapon?

I know you guys are probably tired of these questions, considering it is all speculation at this point. But I've heard a mixed number of opinions that range from "totally not worth it" to "totally is worth it."

I've been having problems picking a main class ever since I started playing. I love being able to change my role on the battlefield to better suit my boredom. I love tanking, but also love sitting back and healing, and I also love, love blowing up mobs.

I managed to farm all the atma (thanks to the nerf) for my paladin, and got it to i100 atma. I then started doing the books for my shield (because it looks so cool, but doesn't the other relics too? right) and got it done yesterday. I still have seven more books to go, but I'm worried that I will change my class in the long run and have to start over the process of once again farming atma, doing books, and the whole shibang all over again.

ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT, the effectiveness of current relics seem awful considering they are increasing the level cap to 60 in Heavensward. I know there have been little snip-picks here and there saying that the relics will continue alongside the increased level cap, but the effectiveness of that remains a question. Will level 60 players be required to do the level 50 relic quests over again? What about DRK, AST, and MCH with their relics? What about new players who totally skipped the relic in the first place and went straight to level 60???

If somebody has some words of assurance that could lean me in the right direction, that would be great. I'd like(?) to spend all the time/money in the world to get one of these relics to atleast Nexus rank before Heavensward, but the effectiveness of doing so seems rather minimal at this point. I still have a lot of crafting, PvP, and other stuffs I need to do and I don't want to waste my time.

I am doing the relic and will probably do 2 before Heavens Ward comes out.

If you are fine with Tome/Raid weapons and don't want a weapon to where you can say... I made this it is mine, then don't do relic.

If you want something you have customized and poured countless hours into then do a relic.

How do you manage to make relics so quickly? Its going to be atleast a month and a half for Novus, and another for Nexus. Its crazy!

You can easily get 3 Alex per day just doing roulettes, a little less than 4 weeks if you don't do any other content. Atma from what i have heard has significantly increased. The longest drawn out part will be Animus due to waiting for fates. But at 400 sold to get a tome it is very fast. I could complete a book a day if fates were in my favor when it was still 1500 myth. Lastly while you are working on Animus/Atma you can be doing hunts to start collecting Alex. Then Light farming, I am going to be spamming whatever is up. This is the one I can't really estimate how long it will take. Lastly for Zodiac, I have already started purchasing all my materials. So by the time I get to this quest, I will just be doing the dungeon crawls. For example I already picked up the 4 Bombard Cores (80k Seals).

So while your grinding atma, you can be picking up cores. Doing hunts, collecting alex, etc.

Don't have to max out every stat. I am going to do 25 crit, 25 det, and 25 acc.

A. Because I am lazy
B. It allows me flexibility
C. I am partially frugal

As a PLD Parry/Acc would be the cheapest but I also know it would be the least optimal. Where as 44 Crit/31 det would be optimal. I do want to leave some accuracy in my weapon for whatever may come.

atma can be done in 5hrs roughly sometimes longer if unlucky

novus can be done in about 3-6 days if u do about 10-15hr worth of fates a day. roughly 2-4 alexandrite a hr depends on luck

nexus takes 5-8 days if u do nothing but fates and if u do dungeons it works out to be double that time.

I'm not bothering with my relic because of the amount of time it takes. I have things I need/want to do outside of the game. I can see why people do the quest, it's just not for me personally.

playing 15 hours a day?! I wish I had that time to burn, it took me 4 months just to finish the books. another 2 months to get my melds infused. working on light now through pvp
