I disagree, not everyone wants to be a cutesy race or this whole game would be Lala Land (and its not).
moogle playable race, no thank you
moogle companion, sure why not having a pet Job that has a moogle figthing by your side that buffs and stuff sounds fun
I could totally be down for this too if the playable avatar idea is too far-fetched for the devs to consider. But I'd still love to customize my moogle's gear and role in battle (battle-mode mogs ftw).
Hmm, my very own moogle companion... may have to edit my initial proposal to add this as an alternative possibility. Even if they were to stay puffballs (sigh), it'd be cool having one hovering over my shoulder (like a PSO mag) casting buffs on me or increasing certain stats.

You do understand that the storyline wont allow this right? and pretty much there moogle in the game and they do there own thing? they don't even have the same role like in ffxi where they took care of our staff and made events. Moogle would have a big role in ffxiv i bet but it wont be a race.
I'm sorry but i say no to this idea just like the idea of chocobo being a race.

Chocobo race?! I'm also heavily leaning towards moogle companions or summons now after Yoohre's suggestion. That is much easier to implement developmentally and lore-wise (especially post-deluge or whatever is planned with the cataclysmic remodel).

I agree with you! Moogles are creatures..just like chocobos, tonberries, cactuars.. etc. Seeing people play as moogles would be no different than seeing all those other creature races being playable..it just doesn't seem right >.<You do understand that the storyline wont allow this right? and pretty much there moogle in the game and they do there own thing? they don't even have the same role like in ffxi where they took care of our staff and made events. I'm all for having them be companions though (i guess). As long as they stay npc's in some way and make it work with the lore and stuff..
While I would love to see new races in FFXIV, a moogle race would just be ridiculous. Can you really imagine those little puffballs trying to dawn heavy armor? Moogles are a fun staple of the Final Fantasy franchise, but they simply wouldn't make a very good player race.
I'd much rather see something such as Viera or Bangaa be implemented. Of course, this is all just wishing. They've got to get the core game in line before such expansion content.
I'd like to see a Mogish race, they don't have to be moogles, they could be related to moogles and still fit the lore. The game is getting rebuild from the ground up it seems anyway so why not add something like this?
I'm in favor.
Did none of you read where Mogs are not Identical to Moogles? Mogs are Genetic Manipulations by Galean fusion Moogle and Lalafell DNA. As a result they are pale white furred creatures with the same body size and structure as a Lalafell (As a result they would use the same Armor Mesh as Lalafell. With the addition of Wings on the back)
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
Sounds terrible to me.Did none of you read where Mogs are not Identical to Moogles? Mogs are Genetic Manipulations by Galean fusion Moogle and Lalafell DNA.
