Edda the Adventurer (Who went off her knocker) Tam-Tara Deepcroft hardmodel lore

First off, bravo SE. Bringing in a minor character for future content really makes the world feel connected.

Ok for the minor spoilers.
edda is an NPC adventurer that you encounter in the game. By level 20, you see her multiple times. This video does a good job at summarizing it.

Sooooooo yeah things happen. And in quest line to return to Tam-Tara, you find out she's gone off the deep end. She turns her now dead lover into a demon,and you the asshole of an adventurer have to kill him. after doing so she *actually* goes off the deep end. In a ball off flames. No, that is not a metaphor, she goes poof. see video below.

So, you go back and tell your her old adventure buddy that she's dead now too (he gave you the quest)but as you do, he sees behind you, in high contrast, this lovely little thing

Yes that is in game. He freaks out, and runs away from you. But as your character turns, you see...nothing.

So, question now. What do you all think this means? It looks like they are setting up even more potential lore and story for the game.
What are your theories and thoughts on this everyone? And if it was up to you, where would you like this line of story to go? I'm rather interested in it for some reason. They took a benign, typical MMO side NPC and actually made it...relevant. A testament to just how bad things can be for adventurers that don't have the Echo to protect them. Maybe she tries to take your soul next. If you're a male, maybe she'll try to make you her lover, demon thingy.

Edda's story arc proved very popular with the release of that dungeon. I believe YoshiP has said we may see her return again if there's enough interest... it's fairly obvious that she's still 'alive' in some way. I was hoping we might see her involved in AK HM but it didn't happen. Perhaps in the expansion.

I expect we'll simply see a conclusion with something like a Mail Mog quest; We deliver a letter to Paiyo Reiyo about his nightmares or something like that, and then wrap up Eddas' story.

Oh, right, and it is a damned shame they didn't sneak Edda into the Eternal Bonding ceremony if you'd do hard mode, similar to how she was hiding in the initial cutscene for the dungeon quest (chocobo gets spooked by her iirc). A damned shame...

I am kinda hoping that's all we'll see or hear of Edda. And I say this with Tam Tara HM being one of my favorite dungeons and thoroughly loving the story. I think it would detract from her story and character if we somehow "cleansed" Tam Tara of her spirit. It's regrettable we were not able to save her, but not everything needs to have a happy ending. Let her haunt in peace.

Yeah, her story really resonated with me since it was my 1st mmorpg and i was a cnj to boot. So when those people yelled and blamed her poor healing it made me learn that I must focus on the Tank and be very close to them so that they wont get out of range of my heals.

Although on the flip side, if you did the sastash HM quest you'll see adventurer npcs resembling Eddas crew.This time it was the healer that was blaming the tank for not keeping agrro why she was busy DPSing, lol. Luckily he had a potion so he didn't die, lol

And Lunar, I agree that overplaying it could be bad. But at the same time, making her say, a boss of some kind, means she could never really be "cleansed." Or Maybe she haunts you

Well maybe dat last boss in ak hm will be involved with her cuz in the ending cutscene he laughs while the screen pans off into the distance. Hopessssss

My theory is that if there's ever an extreme mode they'll probably continue that story arch. Otherwise wrapping it up in moogle mail seems like a shortcut.

I'd rather we didn't get extreme mode versions of any existing dungeons. I'd rather just see new content!

That said, it would have been hilarious and frightening if she showed up in the background of Eternal Bond ceremonies!

I don't think it'll get wrapped up in a moogle mail sidequest, either. You can do those in a different order, so...

I like the idea of Edda and the AK hard mode boss teaming up. But a lot of people think Diabolos isn't dead, either...
