Auto notification system

This whole thing is an idea I had quiet a while back about some stuff that annoyed me with the social lists system. Mainly the major drawback is that you have to continuousely enter the menu to check it and when its up it does not auto refresh when someone logs on.

I think it would be a neat and benificial feature if the system would display a small un-intusive message when a friend logs on, preferable something external to the chat log that fades away after a few seconds this way it's not intrusive to gameplay.

I know this feature would probably not be liked by everyone too so the ability to toggle it off in the options would also be an asset if implemented. I just think it would be over all useful and helpful to players to build and interact with communities this way.

Yeah, i mean these are just little mock ups, and the notification would gradually fade away as to not be annoying. I didn't know of any dev tag for this when i posted so I wasn't sure if it had been posted yet.

Agree with idea, disagree with screenshots. The last thing I want is another giant widget on my screen. A simple message in the chat log would be more than sufficient. "*friend name* has logged on.", "*friend name* has logged off."

Eh i just thought as is the on screen chat log can be kind of crazy as is. The idea is the widget would flash on for a second upon a log on, and fade away after a few. Kind of in the way xbox live alerts work. Also the screens were just an example to help relay the idea .

I think we have to wait for the servers/core system to have this if they can't add mail system i think this going to be hard to even do.

Yeah, this is true, but it's not a bad idea to start gaining support and momentum for these ideas so the Devs know that these are things we want. There is no reason we can't get this on list for things to come later.
