The Calamity Salvager is a nice addition that "stores" various items that we unlocked and are no longer available via normal means, so that we can get them back if they are somehow misplaced.

I've been wondering if, along a similar logic, we could get a "scribe" NPC that would keep record of quests we turn down? By turning down, I mean a new option: now, we can either accept something, in which case it gets in our journal and our duty list, until we complete the whole thing; or decline, in which case the marker remains on the NPC and on the map as well. We're often told that this-or-that is optional, and no need to do it if we don't want to - but those things still get shoved in our faces, as mentioned. It would be nice to actually do away with them, have them hidden and, once interacted with the quest-giver, available from one specific NPC, like those special items are from the Calamity Salvager.

The newer players are overwhelmed enough with all the stuff they unlock at 50 anyway, and if they know they don't want to be bothered with something or other, it would be nice to help them reduce the HUD-clutter. And the veterans know perfectly well what they want or don't want to deal with, in my opinion, so no danger there either.
