I loved how they worked in 2.4! me and 4-6 of my friends would just go hunt down 3-5 A ranks a night, it was fun, challenging, and not just a zergfest! I miss that ; ;Hunts were originally designed to be tackled by smaller groups, not the entire server. You'd get a group, go out and hunt an enemy and defeat it. They were working "properly" in 2.4. But once again, someone decided that people just won't do the content they added in if there's no "acceptable" reward from it. So they threw in the upgrade items again.
It's entertaining trying to beat Dalvag's Final Flame with only 3 people. Tornado is legit.
Hunts were definitely better off without endgame rewards, but they could have at least added additional casual avenues to get those rewards to mitigate the wild overcrowding. Maybe they think it's fun for everyone to be jerks to each other?
They just like to underestimate the rush mentality of the players. They need to watch some Black Friday Walmart videos or something, then transition that image to what the players are like when it comes to easy-to-do endgame upgrades. As someone who did a lot of Hunts prior to 2.5, very few from their initial launch, and only one since 2.5, the mayhem right now is enjoyable. It's like going on a safari adventure and running into territorial keyboard savages you never had a name for. "This is MY hunt!"It's entertaining trying to beat Dalvag's Final Flame with only 3 people. Tornado is legit.
