    having to reapply status abilities (shield oath ect.) before/after DF/Fates

    My Wife and I noticed before/after instances (Dungeons) and Fates we would have to reapply our buff abilities she was playing Ninja and had to re apply her Kiss of venom/wasp after every dungeon/fates and I was having to reapply shield/sword oath, now we can understand if we were lvl synced below the learning lvl of the ability but most of the time it wasn't, anyone else having this issue? I hope SE fixes it.

    If you do a dungeon or fate that is lower than your current level, you're forced to be level synced.
    Reason why is cause some skills require a certain level in order to be used.

    So say you're heading into a level 10 fate, and you have Huton up and Wasp. Those two are automatically removed because it'd be unfair for others to have an advantage.

    Same goes to dungeons like Dzamael Darkhold and Aurum Vale.

    Not a bug, it's working as intended.
    Yeah yeah, it's annoying, but really.

    Anytime you level sync, the buffs are removed. Even if you aren't below the level of the ability, it is still removed. This is generally a result of lazy coding.

    Read his post, it is also happening to skills when you are above the level to use the skill even after the sync. I think if he was going below the level, he'd understand losing the buff, but going into a fate and syncing and loosing a buff that you can then (and are generally forced to) reapply is a result of laziness on the developer's part.

    i dont know if it is affecting other jobs, by i know as ninja, every instance i go into, my venoms are removed.

    Have to agree. I was wondering why I was being beat out on aggro on Pld against a Nin when I didn't have any problems before the patch. Then I realized my Oath was down and also down after I had died. Rather frustrating.

    yep it happends even if I don't get lvl sync in a dungeon seems like it even does at fates my Pld is fresh 50 and before I know I was able to keep defiance up on war, gonna have to test it.

    yep thats what my Wife was going through, don't remember her having to go through that before the patch.

    The Ninja in my coil static had the same problem on Tuesday, every time we would zone in or out of coil his venom would drop off. The WAR, PLD, and MNK did not have this issue. Now on Thursday the Ninja is no longer having the issue. Weird bug.

    Well... For some things, yes it's a bit annoying. But for others...

    Say you're a lvl50 whm, standing in front of a Fate where you'll be synched down to lvl40. You cast Protect and Stoneskin, and synch down. Since you have both those spells at lvl40 (including the upgraded Stoneskin), it makes sense you get to keep them, yes?

    Except... WHM Stoneskin gives you 18% of HP at casting time as a shield. So if you were at 4600hp before synching, and 1500 after synching (examples only), that would give you an unfair advantage against the unsynched people with Stoneskin on, since you'd have a shield of 828 instead of 270.

    And while yes, they could probably go through all skills and check "ok, this skill doesn't change after this level, so as long as you don't synch below it, you get to keep the buff". But really, that would take an inordinate amount of time and programming, and therefore it's much more expedient to just make a blank slate after synching.


    Edit: As for losing buffs when not being synched, that's a different thing and is most likely a bug that you should report :3

    This is the reason the system works the way it does. Buffs in this game are all based on your current stats when applied. They don't live update. They would be made to work that way, many other MMOs started that way, or have added that functionality after a time. The question is if or when SE would do so. They would have to before the current status quo would change.
