Whose tested FFXIV on Windows 10?

I'm curious to know a few things. If you tested it, please answer the following to the best of your knowledge.

Did you test it on a laptop, desktop (stock), or custom-built PC?
What was FFXIV like on it?
Would you recommend it as an immediate OS upgrade?
What would you improve about it, gaming wise?

I tested it on the first tech preview that got released and it worked fine. I'm using my Lenovo laptop (dedicated business gpu) on high settings.

Personally I wouldn't recommend it as an OS upgrade until I see the final release version. They brought the start menu back but cluttered it with ui elements from metro at the same time so it's still not as neat or productive as the plain old start menu in my opinion. Won't be surprised if 3rd party start menu mods, like classicshell, carry over to the next version.

That said they have improved other ui elements, such as the ability to window your apps rather than view them in full screen, keyboard shortcuts in the command prompt, and some minor improvements to windows explorer.

All in all I would say it's a better OS than Windows 8 but with only the tech preview available at the moment there are still a couple windows 8 relics I'd like to see either removed or given the ability to disable them. A lot can change between now and the end of the year when the consumer version is released though.

The only people that have had access to it outside of developers are testers who are most likely under a NDA and should not discuss their experience testing it and people that have pirated unfinished copies of the OS.

This is incorrect, there has been a tech preview available for quite a while now. Which is essentially the full OS without Microsoft support and subject to change. Anybody with volume licensing access should have access to the tech preview, that includes a large sector of government and business, and even individuals who have the right Microsoft agreement. I believe even the general public can register and download the tech preview now.

Tried FFXIV on my custom built system
MB ASUS A495
CPU: Phenom II X6
Mem: 8 GB
GPU AMD 7700 series
Storage: 160 gb Intel SSD, WD 500gb
Win 10 last tested with FFXIV: Build 10049
Comment: There seems some lag when changing areas, otherwise no noticable difference from win 7. Haven't tested with latest build 100061. 10 is definitly better than 8 and when 10 comes out with DX10 you will want it.

I tested 10061.

There seems to be a database popup that happens periodically when playing FFXIV. It forces me back into windows to accept the popup then I can't tab back to FFXIV. A black window is overtop of everything and can't remove it so I have to restart my PC. Happened 3 times in the same day so I went back to win 8.1.

I don't suggest using 10061; wait for another build or stay with old build. Currently Win 10 won't update to 10061 unless you select ring FAST option.
