Let me try to provide another insight to back up my statement and my perspective:

I myself, and a few more players yesterday used all of our levemetes (100), attended every nodes every 24 hours, pop a lot of food, dying and respawning repetitively to spawn 8-10 S Ranks. I am not using Guildworks, nor am I against it (Remember, if it is not fun, you are doing it wrong). However, there are players that just afk, stand still, craft, and abuses Guildworks to notify them when an S Rank spawns. Did these people ever contribute? Nope. If I and some hunt leaders do not initiate a lead, will the S rank ever spawn by GW users? Yea, maybe the "good" GW users.

Yes GW might not be the root of the problem. But it indirectly brainwashed them to a state where "someone else will do it and I can just get on the bandwagon". It is just sad to me that we tried so hard to bring a community together in 2.3, and GW led to a lot of them agreeing to the side of self-benefitting because "it is just a game. Be a d*** or you lose" kind of mentality.

Let us not forget about the big picture. Pulling early does NOTHING except making other people that are a few seconds late not being able to get seals. Yes they should arrive earlier. But waiting for 5 seconds isn't gonna make the first puller lose seals. Enlighten me where is the logic except for enjoying people hating about it.

I just feel sorry for people who does so much for others but others decides to be a d***. Don't get me wrong. I really care less and am enjoying what I do. Just helping the community voicing it out.

I am on Excalibur and I can tell you hunts, which I use to really enjoy are a complete joke now. I am only on coil T6 currently and my avg Ilvl is 113 so currently the only way for me to get ilvl130 is hunts. I port the second my hunt LS announces and I often shout to hold pull for a minute and since the patch I have missed 80% of hunts. Something needs to be done about this you would think otger players would be courteous enough to hold pull but they are not so SE please do something.

I am on the same server as Cfai and Psycho4r5 and the issue is pretty bad too. IMO, it is the self entitle brat who keep pulling early or just being a jack ass. No joke, one time i was in a hunting pt i was on the other side of outer la scouting and the pt leader say it is on the port side. I port right away and it is dead before i even got there.

Also i think the amount of ppl concentrated into 1 a rank is technically = to the population of the ppl in mor on a normal day ( i.e no new patch or events )
And s rank is like all the cities + mor population combined.
If only they gave out fcob tome upgrade loot for being afk in mor we would be back to normal.
On a serious note, higher hp might work but it would really backfire if ppl quit hunting due to hunts taking too long to kill and missing other windows etc. once the hunt pop. Goes down normal a ranks will take forever to kill as a small group/ group of groups. So in some ways more hp would help but in other ways it'll just make things worse. Kinda a 1 step forward 2 steps back thing.

Its probably asking a lot, but if they intend on sticking with the hunt system (which I assume they are since they talked about adding in higher tier ones that are bigger than S ranks), they should come up with a flex mechanic that will adjust the strength of the mob depending on the amount of players in a certain radius/zone.

Probably sooner than you think, since the OP (me) is also from Excalibur. :P

It's possible that GW client contributes to the issue, but it's not exactly a root cause. From what I understand, many (most?) other servers were never able to really rein in their server while Hunts were relevant the first time. Excalibur managed to tightly organize hunts and get credit for the most amount of people without unduly diminishing credit for folks who arrived in a timely manner, but I guess a lot of other servers remained super toxic and ridiculous.

    The real problem is:

    1) Carbontwine can only be obtained via Final Coil or via Hunts.
    2) Most people can't do Final Coil, or at least very well, period.
    3) Everyone can teleport to a mob and attack it as soon as they are within range.
    4) When you have everyone on the server wanting the reward mentioned in 1), and keeping in mind 2), the percentage chance to get 3) is overwhelming. I even see people in full dreadwyrm rush up to the hunt mark and pull it as soon as they first come within range. Pretty legit.

If there was an alternate "casual" way to get carbontwine (for example, if there was a second weekly to get twine instead of just coat), there would be less people doing hunts (and quickly substantially less as people figured out how stupid it was, never getting any credit).

Prior to 2.5, I personally found a ridiculous percentage of the hunt marks overnight, because I was bored and wanted glamours, so did that for some time. Hunts are pretty fun when people just want alex and glamours. I didn't mind that most people were content to wait for the mark to be found. Then 2.5 dropped and now hunts are packed to the gills at literally every hour of the day. Dead of night, early morning, midday, doesn't matter. So many people.

You just can't jam the whole server into a single content that is non-instanced and hope it will work out. It's wildly irresponsible because we've already seen it before, and besides that, one would hope that the dev team would understand how supply and demand work, given that it's a very basic concept.

(For full disclosure, I still get more than enough seals even with the early pulls to get stuff, but I don't think my personal benefit or lack thereof speaks to whether or not it is a well-designed game system, because honestly it's just not - assuming you are stacking "exclusive" rewards in there that everyone wants, which is presently the case.)

I think SE knows exactly what they are doing, which to me, is prolonging the time people continue playing until the expansion. Making these items available via Allied Seals is a tremendous 'carrot on a stick' to the huge majority of the player base that doesn't or cannot do FCoB. Knowing that by just grinding out a ton of AS to buy enough logs to get their gear to full i130 (not even going to point out that if people aren't doing Coil - like me -- they don't even need anything really above i110), many people will do just that. Soon, I expect SE to further incentivize people to continue playing through to the expansion by releasing these items in WoD -- which people will then spam until they are done, much like people do now with sands and oils. By the time everyone is done chasing the full i130 or whatever the max is gear treadmill, Heavensward will be here and all of that gear will be reset with a new treadmill beginning at level 60.

The hunts are bad for me because they destory the Q's (just like they did last time). After coming home from work/school I dont have much time to sit and wait for very long Q times because everyone is Hunting (their choice, I know) Now, farming for lights as a solo player is nearly impossabile (even on heals) running Dfs needed for the relic quest is almsot died. I dont blame hunters,I just feel maybe seals and rare items should always be place in DFs with very few in the open World.
