Curious Gorge - Warrior Questline [Possible Spoilers]

While playing through the warrior questline, I didn't end up paying much attention to the lore and now I fully regret it. I can only view certain cutscenes but of course, some quest dialogue is omitted from them.

My question to you.... Does it explain why his nose isn't black like the rest of the hellsguard? I read somewhere that his tribe was shunned by the others, so I wasn't sure if maybe he lost the black marking on his nose due to that or something else? I was under the impression that it was a genetic thing but now I'm not entirely sure.

Never mentioned at all in game and I honestly never thought about it. Do all hellsguard noses have a black smudge or is it optional?

Though now that I think of it that might explain the "curious" to his name. Always thought it was talking about his sexuality, but it IS curious that he doesn't have a black nose if that's common in his species. If its a genetic then it'll explain why he'd rather not talk about his curious feature over and over again.

Anyways his tribe was shunned because their fighting style to outsiders make them look fightening/scary. They tough many outsider their art and these outsiders couldn't control their inner beast and would go out of control (bad PR). Eventually, their services weren't needed or worth potential berserk outrages.

The black nose isn't optional. Well, for the females at least. I can't speak for the males. But I'm pretty sure we all have them. I'm wondering if maybe 1.0 info would shed any more light on this, but I started in 2.0 and it seems a lot of the 1.0 stuff is limited. If he doesn't have a black mark because his tribe was shunned, it would suggest that it is a decoration and not genetically inherited.
