How come when I use Hawk's Eye on my BLM I can see the DEX increase but my damage doesn't increase?

Is the skill broken on BLM?

Now, on to conversing with the ACTUAL players of FFXIV . . . some silly kid mentioned that it's not worth their time to put on a buff. It's an instant cast. I feel sorry for the kid, but one day they will move on to "My Little Pony" - it's more that kid's level. Regardless, the input and screenshots from everyone else just proves Hawk's Eye is a good skill to have.

I am a team player - and I like to help my team. I;d rather be an asset, not a carry. If I have access to buffs - I'll use them.

BLM does not use DEX - that is why you do not see a damage increase. BLM damage comes from your INT stat - that is where BLM potency lies. The only classes in the game that can benefit from DEX are ROG/NIN, ARC/BRD and PUG/MNK.

TBH I know how it works. Just thought I add some more fun to the thread.

Hawk's Eye is just so OP as a skill since it's an increase to DEX. Will probably be close to a 40% Damage increase come Level Cap increase.

Considering bards have lower damage compared to other dps classes, and rely heavily on crits to deal burst. Also my bards dex is about 500, with hawk eye i gets about 585 dex, which then translates to 585 attack power. its not that OP, yes with 1k dex you would get about 150 dex. But really at the higher levels the small boost is only every going to be 15% extra dmg.

Oh yeah I think you're right. I was thinking about it backwards, because it'd still only be a 15% increase compared to the damage you're doing, even though it's a greater DEX increase.

i.e.
600 DEX (740 Damage) - HE - 690 DEX (850 Damage) +110

1000 DEX (1600 Damage) - HE - 1150 DEX (1840 Damage) +240

Still an awesome skill that I wish NIN could use.

Monks use STR, actually. Not DEX.

And tanks actually gain a really small amount of Block/Parry from DEX. I stress the word small, though.

Ah okay. My PUG is only level 18 and I haven't touched it in a few months so I stand corrected.
