    Mouse lag/slugishness

Maybe it was something I was used to before, I don't quite remember. I've been away from the game for a bit and started playing again when 2.5 launched and the mouse lag has been driving me up the wall. Every game I've played in my absence, I've had no issues. It's always as smooth and fast as if I were at the desktop.

But when I came back to FFXIV it was ever apparent that the mouse was not keeping pace with my movements at all. It's sluggish and even choppy at times. It's been the near death of others when I heal.

I dearly hope I'm not the only one dealing with this and if any one has any tips on making this better I would greatly appreciate it.

Have you tried to disable Aero while you play? I'm assuming you're on Windows 7... you could try updating Windows fully + graphic card drivers. Also, download your mouse software if you have a gaming mice and try to use Raw Input for the settings.

Another thing to check is Vertical Sync (Vsync) make sure that's disabled and see how ur mouse movement goes.

    Thanks for responding to me!
I'm not sure what you mean when asking about "Aero". My OS is completely up to date as is my graphics and mouse software. I use a Logitec M518 mouse and dont remember seeing any "Raw Input" setting in the software for it.

I was gonna say that sounds like Vertical Sync too, so, check that out.

Windows Aero is, simply put, a graphical feature of windows. This is the feature that makes the panes look glass-like and lets you see a preview of the items in your taskbar at the bottom by mousing over them for a couple seconds. On some systems it takes a lot of processing power, and disabling it may improve your experience. You can do that by following these instructions, it's easy.

I see! Thank you for explaining that for me. I'll give disabling V-Sync a try as well.

Ok disabling V-Sync didn't improve the mouse issue and just gave me annoying screen tearing. However disabling Aero helped a ton! Didn't get rid of it completely but it's no where near as pronounced as it was. As it is now I probably wont even notice it after a while of playing.

Thank you, Rekujin and Rhindas for being so helpful!

Well it looks like my problems are ever present lol. While turning off the Aero effect in the windows theme helped a lot with the mouse lag, I've discovered that V-Sync will not function at all in game if Aero is turned off. T.T

The only time I've encountered mouse lag was when I tried the Mouse Tracking that was introduced in patch 2.5. It was so sluggish it was impossible to play properly.
