No, It's Too Soon! (Spoiler Alert)

After clearing Keeper of the Lake for the first time last night, I saw the post dungeon scene and saw something that I was expecting would be a possible part of the plot but I was expecting it to occur at the end of Patch 2.5, not when it has just started.

If you know what I am talking about, losing the power from Hydaelyn was something I expected to occur as the very last thing that would happen in the Realm Reborn storyline. It would have made more sense for it to happen as a natural transition from Realm Reborn into Heavensward because of course, the Realm Reborn saga will end with the introduction of Heavensward.

It just doesn't make sense to have no power as the Warrior of Light with so much storyline still left to cover.

You don't know what they have planned for the story yet. They did this for a reason, losing it at the end would suck, i mean how generic of a ending would that be?

Considering Heavensward will have at least 2 primal fights at launch, i suggest we're getting the power of the light back at some point.

But most of us were under the impression that it was the power of light actually making us immune to it. AKA, basically tempered by the Mothercrystal vs. evil Primal. Although the Echo being our resistence makes sense, too.

Also, I think Midgardsomr following us around to watch us instead will be a HUGE plot point. Minfillia mentions his job is, legendarily, to "guard the lake all magic flows," but is that exactly it or just Min's best theory?

Here is my take on the situation as it stands thus far. I do not believe Midgardsormr, out of blind rage, severed or bound our link to Hydaelyn. There had to be a more outstanding reason as he said he remembered the covenant. Also it is doubtful he'd be following us around if he wasn't watching over us in some manner. Possibly Hydaelyn is too weak to protect us anymore? Or it may be that we needed the blessing out of the way in order to deal with the Ascians as a whole, as it prevented some from even taking form in Eorzea at all. I do not think we have lost the echo. The reasoning behind this is that the echo not only allows us to see memories and past events but allows communication with other beings outside of our realm of understanding (see Midgardsormr and Ascians). Notice how after Midgardsormr took, sealed, etc the Blessing we were still able to understand him? Or for that matter the Ascian. Had we lost the echo we'd have been like Moenyna (if I spelled that properly. I have trouble with Roe names lol) and unable to make sense of what the guy was saying.

Midgardsormr also makes a point. Will you be a pawn or will you do something by your own hands? It may very well be that Hydaelyn has turned us loose thinking we are good on our own. At this point it is conjecture, simply theory craft to be honest.

Considering the Battle of Ishgard is in Part II, and the trailer also shows Iceheart disabling the barrier protecting Ishgard, this feels like it's building up to that incident. We may as well be the one thing that stopped the Dravanian Horde from completely wrecking Ishgard, thus setting the scene for the expansion.

We lost the power of the light which was given to us during the fight with ultima, we did not lose the echo which is a totally different ability.

Wait, did I miss something? The dragon used it's claw to seal the power of light inside the hero, to prevent it from leaving, no?

im my opinion some1 gave us his blessing n removed the light blessing... as they state he governs all things magic based so more or less we are still protected from the primals
