Penalty for Abandoning Duties without a Vote?

When fighting stronger Primals, like Ramuh Extreme using the Duty Finder, its not uncommon for people to start abandoning within the first few minutes if someone mentions they are new to the battle, there is one wipe, or they don't think they got matched with the ideal party. This often leads to a chain reaction of people leaving, until there is maybe two, then one person left. You can't vote to abandon until 15 minutes in, with the game mentioning you don't incur the penalty if you leave through a vote to abandon.

With how often people just leave anyways, is there really a penalty for abandoning a duty and if there is; does it still apply if everyone else has abandoned already and you're the last person in there? I always stick it out to the end, but when I'm the last person in there and its still far to early for a vote to abandon; wasting an extra 15 minutes by myself seems pointless. The amount of people who quit early makes me believe there is no penalty for quitting.

If it's not a full or light party depending on how many is need to start then yes if one left then there is none. Which is why so many rage quitters demand to be vote kicked.

You only receive a penalty if you're leaving a full (or light in 4 man content) party. Not sure how this works in 24 man content, but if someone's already left an EX primal, for example, the second, third, etc. people receive no penalty, just the first person.

Like mentioned above, only the first person leaving a DF party gets the penalty. Once the party is no longer full you can leave safely.

If you queued as a full party (formed a party of 8 first and then register for duty) you can always leave without incurring a penalty.

But it also is impossible for such a team to get a replacer.

Go out, recruit a new player, go back in.
One of the advantages of a PF group is that if one person leaves the rest can still stay together. Granted, most of the time half of the party falls apart but that is a different thing all together.

Just want to add to this, but roulettes are the exception and even if you queue up as a full group, you will still get a penalty if you are the first person to leave within the first 10-15 minutes. This ended up happening once or twice when we accidentally queued up on incorrect jobs and one of us hopped out to change.
