This is coming from someone who makes it to 95% of the hunt calls and often finds hunts, is one of the first ones on the scene, and has his Carbon Twines already. Here' the scenario I often see:

    1) I get to the hunt mark at the same time as a guy in another hunt party.
    2) We both call out to our parties/hunt LS's.
    3) Our parties arrive; others inbound shout saying they're inbound so please wait. I'm all about helping other players so I will wait and tell my party (I'm usually party leader) to wait.
    4) Other player who got there IMMEDIATELY pulls and then mocks those who couldn't get there in time to get any credit and curses out anyone who calls them out on being a d-bag.
    5) Rinse, repeat -> toxic atmosphere.

Then you have guys who will retaliate and try to reset EVERY hunt. It's not good for anyone. Honestly, since all I need now are my Dreadwyrm gear drops from FCoB, I'm turned off to hunts. The negativity just makes it difficult to enjoy these days.

Whole lot of smug social darwinists here. I mean, I understand you shouldn't be tardy to the party, but going "You deserve to get nothing because your computer and intel are slow" to people kind of makes you an unpleasant individual to be around. Hell, I wouldn't want to drink with you; you'd have me buy the booze then drink mine and claim you deserve it more.

That being said, good intel will help a lot. Hunts are a mess right now, precisely because they're the focal point of a lot of valuable materials including gates to 130 gear, probably the best source of alexandrite, and some really swank glamour gear. At the end of the day, trying to police hunts is like trying to herd cats- there will always be at least one little sniveling whoreson there who needs to be hit in the eye socket with the backside of a claw hammer that pulls early and jeers about it. Bemoaning how it's going isn't gonna help you get your goodies faster; planning around said whoreson will.

Probably the most amusing thing is when I'm minding my own business gathering/questing/whatever and, having been in the region for a good several minutes I see the shout channel:

    inv
    INv
    inv
    PULLED
    DEAD

Ok, so what just happened? Was there a hunt, or did someone start a mosh pit, get their leg pulled, then get clubbed to death? Kinda sounds more like the latter, given there wasn't even a location given. I'm actually kind of curious about this. Sorta hard in some areas to just run into a hunt mark without a location. Private linkshell shenanigans?

well... regarding those early pullers, they always gonna be a big problem. But give it time and they will eventually fade since alot of people would blisted him once identified throughout server networks.

Still, the best way to farm your hunts effectively are by dedicated hunt parties hosted by dedicated hunt linkshells.

Need to remind you that unless you want to give the final coils a try, farming these carbon stuff aren't really that useful. Other non coil contents can still be enjoyed with i120 gears.

Sometimes it's just the sheer amount of request flying by, so you don't get to see the actual position (because it slipped a few dozen lines back); in some instances, however, I've seen it happening while already in-zone for a while, hence I can attest that someone prefers sharing coordinate across private channels only, eventually using LSs to spread the information.

For what is worth, my idea of 'fair' is to relate it in triple copy - on my FC channel, on the LS channel and as a /shout, even for the supposedly lowly B-rank Marks. There will aways be someone needing them for weeklies or just for training, and it only takes a moment to broadcast their location; same for the rest of the bunch.

True, this doesn't make distinctions in terms of skill between those who are actively hunting and those who are just passing by... just as having actual scouts / point men in a well-organized hunt group doesn't prevent the occurrence of free riders trailing behind you. Common sense, patience, and a modicum of kindness will always see you through, however.

Why not make it be that Hunt mobs are invulnerable and have -a fate area ish effect on the floor-(not on map) that when you step in a timer is displayed - with a countdown and then after certain amount of time passes, the boss will engage and take dmg?

Or Timer only begins count down when x number of people have entered.

I recall others suggesting some measure of initial invulnerability. The idea isn't entirely without merits, IMHO, but I think a safer, in-game way would be to give them smart attacks or useful counters that hinder or restrict head-on attacks: Mahisha has his roars, Maahes petrifying and paralyzing attacks, and let's not forget the way Hellsclaw's Counter Maneuver works. Tune them a bit and the fight would become somewhat more unpredictable... also, they could be a lot more mobile when popping up, perhaps (they mostly circle/bounce around).

However, as others have pointed out someone's going to end up being too late or left out for entirely mundane, acceptable reasons (starting halfway across the map away is one). And while it may suck to be that unlucky lad or lass, it isn't going to happen all the time if you keep looking for marks.

What is wrong, IMHO again, is to pull without preamble to spite others in general, not just a few unlucky latecomers. While time limits/constraints are all right (hey, many of us do have work and families, and limited free time allowances), and first-come-first-served makes at least some sense, doing it out of sheer malice is just plain wrong and doesn't contribute anything to the enjoyment of the game. Besides, it doesn't even guarantee a full reward given the damage output of certain hunt groups (the same could be said about 'suddenly, reset!', of course).

Just my two gils, as always.

I am here just to say that the hunting community of autistic early pullers are the worst thing about this game. Fuck every single person that can't wait 90 seconds for some people to show up and everyone can get credit. Before you tell me I'm mad or whatever insult you're going to throw at me for having a shitty computer, I am. I'm mad as fuck. Fuck every single person who does this.

Give A and S Rank mobs a 5 min or 10 Min Invul Buff on spawn.. Issue solved.

Only SQE can remedy this.. =(

I am all down for them going back to the old claim system and having 100 people camping hunts. I would much rather fight over claim then fight over early pulls. >
