    What's wrong with, instead of cheap tricks, making the actual weapons themselves impressive?
    XIV doesn't need to resort to kiddy game antics to make their gear look good.
    It's just obnoxious looking.

    Do you mean like adding a multi-texture layer which im sure it is already but if you mean like add extra design to the weapon they could do that but idk how there engine work most engines i worked with if we would add another texture to the same model you would have to copy that model an change the mesh name the redo some of its texture so that u can overlay the older texture with more refining meaning oldtexture+some new additional texture=newer look cause its not like we can tell the program add that texture when this is resolved maybe u can but i havint worked with major companies so idk

    ummm i think he meant just making good weapons from the start... not adding new layers

    i think if everyone would look at FF HISTORY (OMG CAPS FOR SRS BIZNAS) there isn't too many glowing weapons without an effect from the user. there are intricate weapon designs, there are fabled weapons but none of them really seem to glow unless being activated or some other cause from the user and then they don't usually sit there and glow for all eternity. i think, IF ANYTHING, the weapons should glow or 'activate' (seperate into multiple blades, burst into flame, produce a splash of water [epic], etc etc etc) only during abilities that crit or some other means of measuring if the player is doing well (exp chain 3+ or something)or in 'srs biznas' mode so to speak
