You said it wasn't relevant, I simply told you why it was. Nothing more, nothing less. You kind of just going off on me for pointing out you were mistaken.
And to be fair the wait option does stop you from accidently accepting or accidently dropping out of the queue.

Your explanation of why it was relevant was fine by me; I got it when you explained it. What I was "going off on" was your comment of "It's exactly what some of the posters are asking for," because, like I said in my post, it seems (to me at least!) that is really not the case, no one is asking for FCOB yes/ no with no other misclick protection options, particularly as there are already other protections (hence why I brought up confirmation withdrawal) that no one is arguing against.
And part of my post was showing that it doesn't protect against accidentally dropping out in normal dungeons/trials because the number of buttons to accidentally drop out is the exact same as it was when "commence" was the default. It does protect against accidentally commencing before you want to, but a lot of the arguments from people on this thread claiming to have this happen to them (while gathering, while with a retainer, etc.) are actually impossible, so...
Make it an option to select which button you want to be the default, then everyone is happy. Tada. There should literally have been no debate about that at all, is all I'm saying.

Well I was remembering some of the posts along the lines of "why did they change it" or "they shouldn't have changed it" or some feel similar to that. Looks like I just used the wrong word.Your explanation of why it was relevant was fine by me; I got it when you explained it. Then I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were talking about the people who just didn't like the new change in general; I thought you were actually saying that some people wanted to go to the yes/no with no protections option. Sorry if I seemed like I was personally attacking you or anything!
Don't worry about it, and just for the record, I ran into more trouble accidentally commencing than withdrawing. It wasn't a huge problem per se, but it was definitely a nuisance, especially when it would start pretty much instantly.
Anyway, I don't mind if they add in some option to change the default or something along those lines.

I must be the only person in the world who has never accidentally commenced. XD I guess this depends on what classes you are playing though; I imagine if your queues are super long all the time (poor DPS) you do get bored and start doing other things which could get you in trouble... I wonder also if system isn't part of it. On my PS4, the *ding* sound happens before the duty window pops up, but it sounds like for other people that's not the case?
In any case, I hope in the future this kind of thread will get the devs thinking and make them consider making new features optional right from the start. I'm sure they want their hard work on the new features to be valued, but with everybody's play style and needs being different, letting people select the options that works best for them could save a lot of people getting flustered on the forums. >_<
You nailed it on the head right there. When queues take forever I don't walk away and just wait for my controller to ding. More specifically I'm on a pc using an xbox controller so I don't even have that ability to hear my controller ding. So i'll be sitting there filling my time doing something else and right as I'm navigating the menu and hit the A button accept a selection or the B to back out and bam the popup window appears right at that moment. Before you realize what happens you've already selected the default option or canceled out.I imagine if your queues are super long all the time (poor DPS) you do get bored and start doing other things which could get you in trouble... So I guess you didn't say this right after I made my initial post making the same point? Please don't confuse being talked about with being talked to. Just because I mentioned one small idea of yours in that last post to Mutemutt in which I apparently "went off" (your point about accidental withdrawal) does not mean that post was in any way, shape, or form addressed to you. Please read things more carefully to avoid confusion.
Right. You didn't say anything to me where reading more carefully may have prevented the entire argument. Gotcha. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Well I usually queued as a healer, so wait times weren't very long, but I wouldn't go afk or anything during the waits. Since I use x to target everything and make selections in the menu, there's a lot of chances for the commence window to just pop up and whisk me away for another wonderful romp through the Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak. Oh and on the ps3 the "ding" definitely happens at the same time the window pops up, in other words, too late.I must be the only person in the world who has never accidentally commenced. And I have to say, it's really weird seeing my name mentioned so much...
