Ya they're removing that Black and White story 2.X era left us and is now going into a more Grey Zone Storyline.

The 2.3 cutscene is what is kindly referred to as a "subtle hint applied with a sledgehammer".

I'm still surprised that people who have past 2.3 have not figured out that Ishgard may be evil in 3.0 due to the revealing that Lahabrea and Elidibus are controlling Ishgard. Not to mention the constant hints in 2.4 that Iceheart left about Dragons being the real good guys all along.

The story needed more deaths or a death actually matters. And let's believe a dragon that tried to kill us and then seal our powers for the hell of it. He call us errand boy or girl to poke fun at but we STILL an errand person now to him.-_-

Why do our character have to be such a peon? I greatly want to get into the story but being a peon is very off-putting...

He took the blessing away, the fact that we then proceeded to fight and kill Nabriales tells you we're still pretty much the strongest warrior(s) out there.

Mdgardsomr is working on th... who are we kidding? This is a quest based themepark MMO, we'll always be doing something for someone.

I loved Midgardsormr ever since I saw that quest with a flashback about the Agrius and the dragons' battle against it. When I got to Coerthas and found out that they were at war with the dragons, I didn't really feel any pity for them because a) they were religious fanatics to the point of pushing innocent people off a cliff; b) Midgardsormr "died" protecting the Lake (and the rest of Eorzea) while Ishgardians were just sitting on their behinds. When I saw the corpse at Mor Dhona, I always wondered if he was really dead. I love how the current patch continues this story. Overall I'm just super happy... and we even got him as a minion! Chibi version of him... awesome nonetheless. I call him Miso-chan (MIdgardSOrmr).

im in the same boat as a huge dragon fans throw dragons at me ill love you forever lol.. to me hes like 1 of those parents that throw kids in the deep end to teach them to swim on thier own but if they get into real trouble they will jump in to save them as some1 else stated hes more tough love then hydaelyn is we have had teasers to show isgard is under influences of ascians so the question is how long has it been?? the dragons are the good guys imo :P

In my eyes the ascians attack doesn't have much to do with what midgardsormr did. He did seal the protection of the main character but that shouldn't affect the headquarter of the scions in any way. Well it's true by doing so he made it visible that the protection was getting weaker and so nabriales found out that HE now can go into the headquarter to. But you should not forget that he claimed that other ascians could already do it but for a reason i don't remember see no reason to try it right now. So even without midgardsormr doing anything sooner or later someone would have tried to take the broken staff and maybe at that time there would have been nobody in the way of the ascians.
