I'd support it. I think it is stupid that females get two entire floors of clothing in most department stores while the men get one dark corner behind shoes. But hey, let's let the women wear anything from that section too! Either open up everything in the game to every gender or lock all male clothing to gender. Hell most of the end game tank gear is comprised of a shirt or dress anyway, no reason to say we can't wear others. It is an inequality, plain and simple. Why do the genders not have statistical differences regardless of whether they make sense? Because it is not fun to the game. So I don't care if it makes sense, make the gender system equal in either direction.

I also support this. The one thing I wish I could wear is Snow's coat from the Lightning event. But sadly, its male only.

The amount of ignorance and bigotry flying around is unsurprising, and yet still so disappointing. 100% behind this as well. I think it'd be great for anyone to be able to wear anything they want!

Males seem to be held to a different expectation opposed to women(who can literally wear anything a guy would wear, and nearly no one will bat an eyelash). But there seems to be a bit of eye rolling, backlash, or disturbance when a guy tries to cross dress in the same manner. Admittedly, I'm guilty of this at times, but clothes are clothes, yeah? A skirt can show off a guy's rear end or gloriously glistening leg muscles as much as any girl I suppose. Honestly, I'm of the opinion that gender locked stuff should be removed as well. So yes, I agree 100%. After seeing what they did with the groom related clothes, it does feel a bit unfair to not let men be pretty bridesmaids.
I hadn't even thought about that coat... I'd kill to have that on my female characters.
There are plenty of dresses I wish I could wear honestly. I really don't see why it needs to be locked.

In the words of Gilgamesh: "It's time we fight like men! And women! And women who dress like men!"
I have seen people give the reason along the lines of "small development team, lot of work, only a small % of the population want this."
I understand that having all clothes wearable by both genders requires work, but I think that work would be worth while. I do not think it is a small % of the population that support this idea. I am not the design team, and I cannot determine if the amount of work involved is worth it. But I am a member of the community that would like to see this change, and am expressing that. The more people who express their desire for removing gender locked clothes from the game, the more likely the development team will decide the work involved is worth it.

It's unfair in some cases where females are limited to fluffy girly attire. For example, yukatas. I have a Highlander Hyur female rp character that hates girly fluffy things, and the big bow on the lady's yukata ruins the look... But Lord's yukata fits her perfectly... Add a breastband and make it wearable on female, please. Another sad thing is your limited to one or the other and you miss out on rewards you might otherwise use for your other sexed retainers... So unless your a guy, your retainer can't dress as Snow. Or you can't be a matching pair if lightning and Snow

While I don't really care what gear people wear I also don't care that there is some gender locked gear.
I agree with people who say this would take a lot of development time to complete and because of that I don't support the idea. I would rather see time spent on gameplay content because there is already a significant effort put into vanity in this game, almost all of the gear in this game can be considered vanity gear at level 50 and only a small handful of that is gender locked which is fine in my opinion simply because of the ever increasing number of non-gender locked vanity gear coming to this game with every patch.
I feel like this game does a good job with gender/sexual preference and shouldn't be nitpicked over a small handful of items that aren't gender neutral. At the end of the day, I would rather they invest time into entirely new gender neutral items rather than waste time trying to upgrade old ones.
