    How do I turn off friend group icons in chat

    This is a dumb and annoying 'feature'. Where is the option to disable it?

    That isn't an acceptable solution. Friend grouping itself is useful for sorting a list of people that I need to mail frequently from those who I do not.

    Agreed. I would like to keep the alliance markers but the friend markers I'd like to not show. I'd also like the groups for blacklist.
