Actually Cleric Stance exists so a Healer can effectively do solo content. Without it, certain fights would take too long to DPS down. As a healer, the mob must be dead fast because you lack the defensive capability of a tank (and you can not stand there for 10 minutes taking hits, and even if you can heal through it, MP becomes an issue), so to compensate SE gave them a skill to bump up their DPS to feasibly solo quests.

I'm not saying I disagree with the idea of a healer assisting with DPS if he/she has the MP or feels confident enough to. I'm merely pointing out the error in the majority community's understanding of the buff.

no cleric stance exists, so healers can contribute in phases where there isnt much healing needed not only for solo purposes, every fight almost has those phases. A healer is primary a healer, but he should aim to add DPS to the table too when the time calls for it/the battle allows it. The same applies to tanks, they are primary tanks, but they sholdnt neglect DPS totally either.

however most fights dont need a nukeing healer, when their DD members and tank members do their job good (with the ecxeption of some FcoB fights).

I love intensive healing fights, my god the adrenaline rush...SUCCOR, ALDO, PHYSICK SPAM, ON NO ITS CASTING SOMETHING VIRUS VIRUS VIRUS , POPS SACRED SOIL *INCOMING<-----P4 T12 lol ......I love fights like this lol.

As a healer I hate standing around and doing the casual. I love fights that require me to be much more and on top of my game and have a true knack for the job.... Also as a SCH I tend to make the fight more intensive as 9/10 I'm in cleric more than anything other than T13 lol .....

Yeah, while there certainly are AoEs to avoid, it's definitely not in the impossible category mechanics-wise. A nice thing, imo, so thanks for that, SE.
That said, yes, I would also like to see SE doing this with an i95 party. Considering how ridiculously overgeared my party was just now, and we still couldn't beat him in several tries... just interesting.
Not the first such one either, which makes me wonder if they're purposefully under-speccing the requirement for certain bits of content? Idk, but there definitely are a few dungeons/trials that pose a rather tough challenge (if not nigh' impossiblity) even for an overgeared party.

As others have said, you only need one tank.....failed my first 2 DFs tryes at zantetsuken because we had 3 or 4 ppl dead everytime.
Then ppl rage and quit because I guess they expected pro-knowledge of the fight on the 1st day.

Later went with a PF with just one tank + 5 dps and nailed it on the first try even if we had a BLM dead at the end.

This fight will be completely ruined once they echo it lol....

Question: any way to avoid Hall of Lead? it has no ground marker like Hall of Stone....or you just eat it and hope a healer esuna/leeches the slow?

Tried it with my 110 PLD. First time, I got the MT, so I ran into it and... O.O IT HURTS !
We failed the DPS check by 3-5% several times.
Second time, I was OT, and even with cover, MT in 120 gear died several times. We weren't even close to 15% HP at the end of zantetsuken.

At the same time, several other members of my FC cleared it at their first attempt.

I still have to clear it.

used in a random pattern (I think certain attacks can't be cast twice in a row, but certain ones definitely can).

After healing it a couple of times I think it's scripted like T9 or titan. Sangetail comes at certain points, there's always an Einherjar before the 2nd Gungir (so rude).

Finally did this today - took 3 tries but beaten it on the first DF group I did.
Not super over geared group either - but yea, it would be a faceroll duty with a pre-made for people that want glamour

The DPS check of this fight is literally the absolute only part of it that has any challenge at all, and there is already a complaint thread on the forums...


Not sure why these things still surprise me....


This is the same fight I did at Fanfest and obliterated with 4 people I didn't even know (so basically half pre-made, half DF) and all of us had full weathered soldiery sets, so entire party was i100. Einherjar can't be silenced any more, but the bleeding can be cleansed which I'm almost positive wasn't the case at Fanfest. Not 100% on that, but I think so.

Either way, the DPS check is fine as is.

I think people are just frustrated at how DF are dying so easily in this fight when they shouldn’t be.

I finally got the chance to try one run last night, it was painfully to watch the other DF people consistently get hit, stack the spikes and die.

I also did do the FanFest Odin challenge and all the pre made characters were i100. My group of friends and I beat it on the first try (no wipes or deaths). Our group was PLD, WAR, BRD, SNM, BLM, WHM, SCH and DRG. Considering it was our first run, we beat him with a few seconds to spare before his Zantetsuken finished. My BRD was even slightly gimped a bit because I didn't get enough time to plug in all the moves I needed in the short time frame (had to change all the settings from the PS controller to PC settings).

I personally don’t see much of a change other than the second spikes drop sooner. It is very easy to dodge almost all of the attacks.

The only healing that should have been happening is for the Tank, getting rid of bleed and the aoe damage.

For me, it wasn’t a DPS check, people just kept dying. If you don't die, its not a hard fight. :\

I tried this once yesterday, but the DF group I got couldn't beat it after about 5 tries. I queued as SCH, and of course, the other healer we got was also SCH, so I think that was a major part of the problem. I think if I had been WHM we would have been able to clear.
