Can't unlock Amdapor Keep HM, game freezes/crashes every time

Alternate thread title: Snakemolt/Amdapor Keep area is unplayabley broken.

Every single time I try to approach Amdapor Keep to complete the quest to unlock the hard mode version, from either direction, my game freezes, crashes, and sometimes even seems to hog so many resources my entire laptop locks up. What follows is a gamble as to whether I can even log on the character without the game freezing again, then a mad scramble to teleport out of the area.

In addition, the most recent attempt I made to get to the dungeon resulted in me running into an invisible wall! It was from the north side; I don't know if this wall also exists on the south side.

This issue only seems to happen in this very specific tiny area. Please help!

ETA: It appears to be an issue with my particular client. I finally had a friend log in on theirs just to get AK unlocked for me and to get me the heck out of the area. He was able to do so without any problems. I haven't noticed this issue with any of the other areas related to 2.5 (yet, knock on wood).
