Square: What happened to basement crafting (FC crafting)?

First of all, 2.5 is amazing. Loving the secret battle. Anyway, question around this:

We’re currently planning for patch 2.5, not this next one, but the one coming after that, we’re planning to incorporate a mechanic for free company crafting. So if you have free company housing, you can set up a basement shop where you have your own crafting room for your free company where your members can do your activities in that space. So one of the first items you can make with your free company crafting is the Aetherial Wheel, it might not have been announced just yet, but that’s the first thing you’ll be able to build with the free company crafting

There will be new FC features in patch 2.5 like the aetherial wheel and the basement workshops

I'd understand if it was a bit delayed, but I'm confused as the Aetherial Wheel did come out and does not involve FC crafting.

I was wondering the same thing. My FC and I have been preparing for 2.5 thinking we are going to have to start crafting the airship. Now 2.5 hits, there is no basement workshop and nothing to do with the airship.

Lot of time/gil wasted =/

Technically the Aetherial Wheel is a Free Company Crafting project. Anyone who has the appropriate job (Alchemist) can craft wheels for the stand and they benefit the entire FC.

There's still the possibility we'll see more FC crafting and workshop stuff in 2.51 and 2.55 (Part 2)

Yoshi-P made it very clear this was a new system, so no the Wheel is not made via FC crafting.

We've seen pictures from Free Company crafting during the live letters, it's most defiantly still coming and looks pretty far into development. I think we can assume it will be in the expansion, if not still in one of the upcoming 2.5 patches.

There are 2 parts to 2.5. Mayhaps FC crafting is for part 2?

It depends on what they meant by '2.5' as this could refer to either the first part of the 2.5 series or ANY patch from now until the expansion (as all patches between now and the expansion will presumably be 2.5X).

I cannot see it being in anything but a major update/expansion, airships are meant to give Companies somewhere to travel to and do things from what I recall. That is potentially a lot of content that I can't see being added in 2.51 or 2.55 (or whatever), not unless "You require a Free Company with an Airship to enter the Gold Saucer" is a thing that'll blow these forums to hell... I'd expect, and hope, 3.0 for it.

That said, I'd like to at least have the workshop there if only so I'll know where the door to it will be... Could ruin the rooms layout and all...
