Main thing I'd recommend is for DPS to ignore the standards. They have too much HP to burn down; just pull the boss away from them and otherwise treat them as an enrage mechanic. (Idols and normal-type adds, of course, should be killed.)
Yea, that's what I gathered in the end. Also I'm hearing to face away from his Doom attack to avoid it.

Wanderer's Palace Doom will be dispelled the moment the doomed player reaches maximum HP - hence the tip during the battle about "you'll be doomed without a healer".
But yes, ignore the Standards and only bother killing ads or Idols that spawn. Once we realised that DPS-racing the standards down was pointless and how to treat Doom, the fight was super simple.
Just takes a bit of moving around by the Tank because in the standards the boss does get buffed though in the end there will be too many to really avoid the buffs he gets. Idols have really low HP so easy to take them down. My group was actually over thinking the doom debuff at first until we realised it was obvious that we lost it from being healed to full XD.
Basicly just tank him around the arena in a circle. Start at one point, pull him away from the Banners, thats it.
Our Tank just kept the boss at doing counterclock wise. Healer needs to overheal doom to remove it. Party should be nearby because his ability covers the whole room. Need to kill standards with tether./ They have considerably less HP.

tank keep it out of puddles, party stack up behind boss, kill anything that smacks healer and anything with a tether
The final boss is easier than the one prior to it in my opinion. Tank just moves around room spacing out the pools while DPs just picks off adds and ranged picks off idols. The previous fight however is chaotic and annoying due to the random characteristics of the pillars plus quantity of them as fight goes on.
