    Monks and T12

Hello everyone. My newish static just reached T12 and I've been watching videos extensively, trying to figure how I should deal with mechanics and put up the numbers I really need to.

I stumbled upon a video on YouTube of monk PoV doing 530ish DPs staying on phoenix the whole time and dropping ToD from their rotation.

The monk in question is i116 with i130 weapon.

Anyway, my dps has fluctuated wildly in t11 doing anywhere between 390 and 470. AFAIK I've never done over 500. I have i116 I think with kaiser.

What kind of dps are others doing in FCoB? Specifically monks. I wonder if its simply a matter of rotating around the boss too much or something.

    Both are good ideas.

There's no punishment for Blackfire getting too close to the NM; only if the Blackfires get too close to one another. Moreover, you're unlikely to get one-shot by Whitefire at full HP (even with BfB active). You can safely plant DPS Blackfire at the 4 or 8 o'clock position--relative to NM's targeting circle--to stay engaged. If melee get marked by Whitefire you can eat it and ranged DPS can eclipse just as much of the Blackfire as needed. Then let ranged DPS/off tank clean up the Blackfires. Closer proximity to NM also means Bane/Flare can hit.

Handling Bennu depends on your ranged DPS. If they've been keeping up on Ironworks gear, melee shouldn't need to disengage NM to assist. If TP permits, you can use Rockbreaker on spawn.

The rest of the encounter is whackity-smackity for 10 minutes. Very MNK-friendly.

My main is DRG and for first and second phase i push 500+ DPS. I finish the fight between 480 and 490 dps. My group has the BRD and BLM take care of Blackfires and Bennus while me and the MNK of my group are on the boss the entire time. I am i123 with a i125 weapon.

I have no advice regarding T12 as that is what my team is currently working on as well. However, I pull 500+ in T10 and T11 without any issue. I do not think I've exceeded 520 on a win, but we're still fine tuning on those two turns and should continue to increase with comfort and gear upgrades. You can see my gear on my character profile. T10 can be luck of the draw depending on if you get targeted a lot not. Timing there can help save stacks or allow for extra attacks. T11 should be pretty static for the most part. You'll lose some postionals during the final phase as it turns all around, but other than that T11 shouldn't pose any major issues in keeping DPS up.
