What is the difference between Cancel Service Account and Cancel Subscription?

I've cancelled my FFXIV sub before via mog station, but don't ever remember there being a Cancel Service Account option there before. I just went and cancelled my sub by selecting Cancel Subscription, but next to that there's a button still there for Cancel Service Account. I can't afford to resub until next month is why I chose to cancel and assume my retainer sub will be cancelled with it since I could not find an option to cancel retainer sub.

"Cancel Service Account" is basically "Delete my account". You will not be able to resubscribe (ever, AFAIK) after selecting this option.

Just cancel your subscription , not your account! Like Risver said, it'll delete your account.

Okay, thanks. That's what I thought, but when I looked it up someone had said different saying sub was cancelling payment method while service account is suspending account, lol.

Tell them they don't know what they talking about, cancelling payment suspends your account if looking to return at some point and as others said cancelling service accounts deletes it.
