    I've always figured that the Japanese developers simply don't "get it" when it comes to MMO progression due to adding lockout timers for raids that are a WEEK in length, and limit the # of poetics you can get each week to 450.

    It is a task just to get 450 poetics each week let alone cap it consistently with the terrible Q's going on currently.


    Doesn't matter if I get all my gear for my tank. I like to play DPS, and Heal sometimes, too. So it'll take me MONTHS of grinding just to cap one class, and will never get to cap another class .

    The game as it is now is just very frustrating and not worth suggesting to new players when I know how terrible the new player experience is with dungeons that take HOURS to Queue for just to continue their questline (dungeons should NEVER be a requirement for the main story to progress).

    Hunts don't have a lockout of their own because your "lockout" comes from only being able to get 450 poetics per week.

    Hunts don't give gear. They upgrade gear. I don't know why this is a difficult concept to people.

    Considering they followed the model of the most successful MMO in the entirety of gaming, yeah no I'd say they "get it".

    No. Hunts having no lockout IS NOT THE SAME AS RUNNING COIL ENDLESSLY. Even people who were beating coil since launch week only got 2 upgrade items PER WEEK. So in all the time since then their group have at most gotten 3 of these items per party member. These are upgrade items that aren't even that abundant in coil. The primary coil reward are direct 130 drops and eventually a direct 135 weapon. This type of thread pops up every time and they never do it because it's an awful suggestion to begin with that utterly fails to take into account any balance in the end game. Upgrade items are not the same as full level pieces of gear. The amount of effort is not the same. They will not open up the lock just so you can farm the final coil to your hearts content until the next end game content comes out. Find a way to deal with it.

    In addition. The time it takes to farm up these items in hunts it doubled over the previous rate. If you think its that easy to upgrade now then you clearly haven't done the math for how much farming you're really going to have to do.

    This line of thinking always makes me laugh, as the game stands, since 2.0 started, that's how it has always been, you're always just a few months away from obsoleteing your gear. so using that as your go to excuse is just lazy,
